It doesn't matter. Remove Ben, the offense becomes one dementional. It'll probably not keep the defense off the field. The Steelers D thrives becuase they only play 20 minutes and are always fresh to blitz every down. Take away the blitz and pressure, keep the D on the field and the Steelers will lose. We could lose to the Texans if Charlie Batch (who we almost cut preseason) can't get it done.

As much as this pains me to say it, the Steelers are such a superior team to the Packers or Browns that I don't think it's really going to matter that Big Ben is out.. I expect them to win both. I hope I'm wrong..

Also, just found out that the VT game was apparently a HUGE recruiting game for VT where they brought enough talent to compete for a national championship for the next 4 years. Apparently, this game did more than just ruin this season.

Pittsburgh's offense is one dimentional even when big Ben is playing.... They run the ball 45 times per game and throw about 25. As long as Batch can complete a few 3rd down screens and quick outs, the Steeler's running game will keep the Packers and Brown's off the field and they should roll to a couple easy wins, even though I can't stand them!! It's not like they are running up against a couple of the better defenses in the NFL.

Though we rely heavily on the run, with Ben under center, the defense that is forced to honor the run can be torn apart by the pass. We do this to take the pressure off of a QB who probably isn't strong enough to play against a defense showing him more than man coverage. Without a competant QB, we can't win.

If Batch can complete a few deep balls and a few 3rd and shorts, then we'll do well. But Batch hasn't had a good history and he was 2nd to Turnover Tommy Maddox.
