Clif notes: Durrrr challenges anyone expect Phil Galfond to a 50k 200/400 HU challenege at PLO or NLHE. Sounds like Benyamine, Ivey, and Antonious will all accept. If Durrrr ends up he wins $500k extra from loser, if he ends up down any amount he owes winner an extra $1.5M.

wow.. he's laying 1.5 mill to win an additional 500k in what is essentially a coinflip?

    50,000 hands isn't exactly a coin flip.

if he wins at 5ptbb/100 he's going to win $2M+$500k

Man I love BG and all but he always sounds disgustingly up on Iveys nuts.

Does anyone know the reason of why he wouldn't play Phil Galfond?

    oh.. 50k hands.

Yeah, I guess that you could establish who's the better player after 50k hands. Do you really think that Durr would run 5ptbb/100 against *anyone* that plays at that kind of level?

according to Ivey he wants a live pro who he has the multi-tabling edge over.
  11. #11
they showed some statistical data, it seems very possible the worse of the two players can run at 5ptbb/100 over 50k hands (something like 25-30% of the time this could happen).

I still think Durrrr is the best and will own any of them.

I haven't watched the feed because I'm at work..

How many tables do they want to play 50k hands at? I would think the more tables added, the greater advantage to Durr.

I challenged durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to a .01/.02 HU match over 15 hands with him paying me 1 million if I won and me crying like a girl if I lost. and he politely declined, citing he did not want to see me cry.

if they put in 4-5 hours a day, they could have this done in way less than a month.

should be able to do like 1000h/hr at NL, I'm not sure about h/hr at PLO HU seeing how you're going to see like 75% of flops compared to what, like 15-20% in NLHE?

Maybe Sauce could give some insight....
  22. #22
This finally started. Durrr and patrik are 4-tabling 200/400 PLO right now.

yep, all 4 tables just under 75% flops, ~80 hands per hour

he actually ran a bit below expectation too from what I watched
  45. #45
so in all seriousness i think we may see durr come out on top with like 1ptbb wr. i srsly doubt he's any worse than pa at plo, and if anything he's better, but more importantly they say he's a multitabler, and 4 tables of plo is like 6 or 7 tables of nlhe, and i think durr's edge could simply be the first 10k hands or so.

however it is possible that hes just better than pa in the first place. i have doubts about that tho. when two really fantastic players play each other it seems to boil down to which one has more energy/focus, less tilt because their games are refined enough that they dont have any holes given the actually rather large margin of error in poker reads

Gotta bump this b/c these guys are in their 12th hour (from what I've gathered) of a sick marathon session with Durrrr up somewhere around $1,000,000. He's gone from being down ~600k earlier in the challenge to up ~800k.

I missed this, yeah epic comeback so far. Lots of people on 2+2 dissing durr when he was down 10 buyins after 10k hands, but its omaha, they swings!

    Session 24:
    Table 1) TD +$114,972.00 PA -$115,003.00 136 hands
    Table 2) TD +$784,118.50 PA -$784,289.50 761 hands
    Table 3) TD +$337,740.00 PA -$337,866.50 544 hands
    Table 4) TD -$103,525.50 PA +$103,346.00 774 hands
    Table 5) TD +$60,923.00 PA -$60,985.00 294 hands
    Table 6) TD +$253,662.50 PA -$253,768.00 454 hands
    Table 7) TD -$234,061.00 PA +$233,839.50 944 hands
    Table 8) TD -$449,159.00 PA +$449,024.00 616 hands
    15.00 hrs. 4,523 hands
    TD +$764,670.50 PA -$765,702.50

    Total to date:
    TD +$726,547.00 PA -$731,107.50 67.58 hrs. 20,641 hands

Long way to go yet! Wish I was ever aware when the games were on to rail a bit.

PA ass-raped Durrrr in a sesh, actually got back to even, or slightly ahead, then Durrrr ass-raped him back, and is now ~420k ahead at the halfway mark. They rarely play, I'd say like once a month, as there have been bigger NL/PLO games running and I guess they're too cool for 200/400 school.
