I think Kimbo is in a weird position himself, and you can't really say that it's his fault all of this is going on, though it is fairly ridiculous how the Shawathon is going, but that's life. It's not fair that because of the Shawathon hype that he's being somehow compared to top heavyweights and all that. I mean his fight against JT was what, his third or fourth fight? Unfortunately for him, his progress as a fighter seems to be at odds with the promotional aspect of the situation. In any event, I think in a few years he'll be in some sort of proximity to being a top 25 HW, but he's still new to the sport.
Exactly! For Kimbo though, his star will wane before he becomes legit due to the fact that:
A- He'll continue to fight cans and pad a record real MMA fans will come to despise.
or
B- He'll say fuck it. Fight legit fighters and lose. Thus becoming the next Tank Abbott who only wins with a punchers chance.
For Kimbo, time is not on his side.
