    Default Go Colts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning a Gary,IN (right near Chicago) kindergarten teacher explains to her class that she is a Chicago Bears fan. She asks her students to raise their hands if they are Bears fans, too. Not really knowing what a Bears fan was, but wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands flew into the air.

There is, however, one exception. Susie has not gone along with the
    crowd.

The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. "Because I'm
not a Bears fan" she reports. "Then," asks the teacher. "What are you?"
"I'm a Colts fan," boasts the little girl.

The teacher asks Susie why she is a Colts fan. "Well, my Dad and Mom
are Colts fans, so I'm a Colts fan, too" she responds.

"That's no reason," the teacher says. "What if your mom was a moron,
and your dad was an idiot. What would you be then?"

Susie smiles and says, "Then I'd be a Bears fan!"

Man, how could you be a Colts fan and not love Jim Harbaugh? He was easily the most popular player in Indianapolis Colts history before Peyton Manning came along. I started following the NFL when Harbaugh was in Indy, so I missed the Jeff George era, fortunately.

I'm so nervous I can barely sleep. Also, I bought a bottle of champagne tonight. If the Colts win the Super Bowl, I'll try to get some pictures up of me popping it open and spraying it everywhere. I've never opened a bottle of champagne before so I'm not sure how to do it.

    How sweet would this be?

23-21 bears, 2 minutes left. Peyton manning goes through an 8 play drive to get a 36 yrd game winning field goal attempt with 4 seconds on the clock. And Vin misses it.

    I'm calling it now.

    .

Jeff George, what a waste of talent....

I feel old, I remember when they came to Indy. I loved them when: Gary Hogeboom, Jack Trudeau, Duane Bickett, Eric Dickerson, all played for them....

1987--made the playoffs in the strike shortened year....

The best ride up until now, though, was 1995/1996, with Harbaugh. Kordell Stewart gets the illegal TD, then Coryatt drops the INT right in his chest against the Steelers.....comes down to the hail mary that dropped incomplete in the endzone. What a game!!!

Serious question (from an ignorant Britisher) - why was Muhsin Mohammad booed when the players were introduced when everyone else got a cheer? I don't even want to begin to think there were 50,000 racists in the stands so there must be another explanation, right? Right?

Were they yelling "boo" or "moose" ? My guess is moose. (Didn't see intros).

Why would we? He didn't play for Indianapolis so he's not part of our experience as Colts fans. Indianapolis fans have been waiting for a championship for a long time, and there have been a lot of close calls. This wouldn't be as sweet if we pretended that it was actually our second championship.

Here's one of the pictures of me right after the game. I'm having trouble formatting the video so I'll post it later.

Unitas and Baltimore (as well as many Colts players of the Balitmore era) don't claim us more than we don't claim the heritage. But for many of us, this is the first championship of any magnitude in Indy that we can remember (1973 ABA was before I was born even...). Even though the franchise history is forever linked, it seems there are really two type of "Colts" teams, the Baltimore type and the Indy type.
