Default Hello FTR!!! Getin deployed. PLEASE HELP ME OUT IF POSSIBLE

    What up all? Mike here.
Just wanted to say that I really enjoy the amount of community that I find here at Flop Turn River. 2+2 can suck my balls!!haha

Anyways Im in the Air Force Reserve and am getting deployed to Iraq in January. I can;t say where but thank you God it isn't Bagdad.

I was wondering if anyone could help an amatur player out with some resources that I could put together to take with me. (i do get a lap top. I also get some internet access, but it is very limited and poker sites are a military nono) . Also maybe some people could point me in the direction of some resources already put together or are already made.

I am an avid texas hold'em man, but also enjoy very much 7stud, ohma ha( i think its spelled wrong?) and the many different versions of them. with a main focus on holdem-more no limit but limit adn pot are great as well.

Sad to say I won't be able to check up online after January but if someone would pm their email or post it I would be happy to have some poker correspondence in Iraq as poker magazines may also be limited as well.
Thanks for all the support at the forum. I have turned a losing game it to a somewhat winning one and will hopefully be able to further it while in Iraq.

I look forward to being able to post on the forums upon my return and in the last few days before i take off to the sandbox. Thanks FTR!!!! you guys rule!!!!! Strategy guides are the best. and yoou pointed me to harrington books as well.

Gabe is right, theory of poker is easily the best choice. Every other poker book, post, etc is just trying to break down ToP in one way or another.

    best of luck to you.

Like others have mentioned, Sklansky's The Theory of Poker is an excellent resource. It covers many forms of poker, not just holdem.

Harrington on Holdem Volumes 1, 2 and 3 are great for NL Holdem Tournament Strategy.

Good luck in Iraq, hopefully you can get back home quickly and safely.
