Default How Can I Get Phil Laak To Prop Bet With Me?

I'm in the middle of writing a rap diss track on Phil Laak. I'm interested in prop betting him and can probably cover 10-25k in action at least if everything is arranged properly. I'm wondering how to go about contacting him in order to make the prop bet, I'd obviously escrow him the funds, and we'd need some judges for the better rap song.

How I see it working: Both Phil Laak and I write a rap song then record it. An industry beat can be used, or you can get a custom made beat. If you know how to make the beat already, that's an option, and should give you an advantage - I don't, but I could get a decent beat for a few hundred dollars with full rights from an alright producer. The judges will choose the winner based on: flow, punch lines, personal disses, and basically how lyrical it is.

Any idea how I could go about this? I already got a few bars down but I haven't really hit the pen to the pads or jumped in the booth to just spit something yet.

    Thanks

Yes, it would. I'm being completely serious though. I don't know how easy it would be for someone outside of the circle (well, like, the pros...) to set up a prop bet with one of them. It's probably unlikely, but I'm prepared to work out a prop bet if it can happen. Otherwise, I guess whenever the track is made it will still have some EV......entertainment value.

I predict that somehow you will both lose.

this sort of already happended between Laak and Esfondiari on that TV show "I Bet You" that used to air on one of the HDTV channels in 2007 or something but the channel is no longer there.

they bet $20K to make a song about each other I believe and had a bar crowd vote the winner. I believe Laak won this.

does anyone remember this show or this episode?

I thought I remembered hearing something on HSP or PAD that might have been a reference to it, but it might not be the same thing, not sure. Phil Laak is someone that'd be easy to crack jokes about (Tilly, Unabomber, etc, loads of possible content). Maybe I should be getting two to one on my money, at least, seeing that he seems to have the experience. Hmm, thanks.

I can't beat their rivalry, but I know I can beat them lyrically. Get at your boy MC Smurf if you want to accept the challenge Laak!

The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes

Call him out using tons of the viral media outlets.

Youtube, poker toob, youporn, twitter, myspace... etc.
Put it straight down suggesting that you are 100% serious, and be completely open about how he can contact you.

    Also good luck.

It would be 100% epic if you could get a challenge out there using viral media.

The last rememberable situation where a challenge was issued to a celebrity of sorts was when Soulja Boy (Bow Wow might have done it too) challenged people to play against him on Xbox 360, there was one dude that got loads of attention on Youtube (which was where it all took place) but he was ignored pretty much.

Actually, if I plan it all out properly I suppose I could figure something out. Maybe if I did a few freestyles/cyphers where it wasn't written, posted them, made a professional video explaining the challenge, etc, see if any poker sites will promote it, maybe even WSHH (World Star Hip Hop) would promote it if the right headline is used. Maybe get poker pros to tweet about it - if anyone that's close to him sees it, I'm sure he'd ultimately hear about the challenge.

Youporn is gay, I prefer XNXX/empflix, lol. Myspace is so outdated, it's all about Facebook and Twitter now. To the drawing board I'll go, hopefully something will come of the idea though.

Start a thread on the 2+2 BBV. That'll blow up like crazy and Phil Laak will eventually catch wind of this (guaranteed).
That's how winners play; we convince the other guy he's making all the right moves.

BooG, yeah I already know about 2+2 and think it's probably the single best way to get mass attention from the "targetted audience", it's the main place I'd consider promoting through. Once I finally figure everything out and set it up so I'm making my challenge more professional, I'll definitely be venturing to that site as well.

    Thanks
