Default How much do you old bastards make?

I´m curious about how much guys like Fnord, 'rilla and Ripptyde make per month, what stakes you usually play and how big your bankrolls are? Others, feel free to answer too.

I've made about $20 on my original $50 deposit. It would be even higher by I played poker after going to the bar one night.....umm, big mistake. Lost $15 really quick.

Anyway, I've placed ITM in 3/5 MTT's (with $4 being my biggest payday). Last night I won my first SNG ever ($5 +0.50, so I took home $17).

I'm moving up there, just taking my time.

In house games my game has improved a lot. I've gone from being an "okay" player to always being ITM or just outside the money...I've placed ITM the last five tournaments I've played ($220 profit), and am up $300 over the last two months or so.

How much do YOU make a week, Waggho, ohh curious one?

Right now my bankroll is a svelte $220, but I've withdrawn about $450 off of it in the last three days. Prior to this month I wasn't profitable online, but I'm now in the black comfortably. Overall I guess I'm up a couple hundred just in online play; if I maintain my profitability of the last few weeks, or anywhere close to it, I'll probably be making a couple hundred a month from this point forward, until such time as I move to higher stakes.

In live games I have always done well, but I don't play live that much - maybe once every other week. My average profit in those games is probably $10/session (not bad for our low stakes, where the buy-in is typically $5 or $10 per person with no rebuys).

I want to gloat!!! You bastards need to include me....

Anyway....Yesterday I just made enough to have my first ever $2000 month playing LHE (Actually, given my young age, its the first time i've ever made $2000 in a month, period). The month isnt over yet either!!!

It sad, I made $2k playing poker this month, and $700 a month combined working two jobs part time.

Umm....I don't find ANYTHING sad in making $2700 in one month, haha. I know what you're saying, but that's a good chunk of change, I think.

What levels do you play at? Ring games?

I make about 500-1000 a week. I play about 30 hours a week in the 100 NL PP rooms. I started playing online about 3 months ago, and I started living off it about a month and a half ago. Every week my income has gone up about 10-20 percent. I play in 2 live tournaments a week, and cash about 1 in 4 tourneys.

I used to make about 400-500 a month in our local $20 tourneys. Then all our players improved their game and switched over to $1/$2 NL ring games. But I've stopped playing NL ring.

Now I make about 500-600 per month playing live. This includes local and casino. My live game BR is $1000 right now; I like to keep it around 2000 (see signature)

Online, I averaged ~500 a month, last year. I really need to start moving back up in stakes, .50/1 is getting boring. My total online BR is 1200, between empire and interpoker.

By the end of this year, I want to be playing 3/6 online, I think $2000 per month is within reason. And 10/20 in live games, making about $1000 per month. Not a bad 3rd income.
Is that guy still part of the forum??

I made 2k so far in january and its probably gonna stay there but maybe ill play some this weekend. I only play about 10 hours a week ususally but at the beginning of january when I wasnt in school it was probably about 20-25. My bankroll is around 15k but only 7 came from poker. And the funniest thing. 25NL 4 tablin baby. I tear it up so I stay there. Im convinced u can always make at least 15 bucks an hour 4 tablin NL25. When u figure in the bonuses and crap it usually comes more like 30 depending on how many u got. My goal for 2005 was 10k which was twice my 2004 profit but I decided to make it 12k for a nice even 1000 a month. Shouldnt be too hard. Especially if I decide to not get a job.

At lunch I got this sweet ass deal from my aunt. She is probably takin a job in OK but doesnt want to sell her house and I was like well let me stay in it ill chill there and take care of it. And she said I would have to pay the utilities but thats what she would do because she is only plannin on workin at this place 2-4 years and then comin back. The house was almost 200k in a nice subdivision and isnt even 2 years old and ill be livin there for not even 200 a month lol. I hope it works out cause that would be phat as hell.

I´m impressed by you guys. Makes me believe that I can make some serious money too.

How much do YOU make a week, Waggho, ohh curious one?
    Uhm, let me count...

    [counting]

So far, $20 a week! That´s my net profit divided by the weeks I´ve been playing this game (about twelve). It´s moving up though! This week I´ve made $170 and now I plan some bonus whoring to get my bankroll up to $1,000.

none of your fucking business swede
    okay...

    I'm enjoying a bit of down-swingery so I don't wanna go check.
I see what you mean. The board hits you like you owe it money.

Anyway....Yesterday I just made enough to have my first ever $2000 month playing LHE (Actually, given my young age, its the first time i've ever made $2000 in a month, period). The month isnt over yet either!!!
That´s really impressive. How old are you anyways?

That´s even more impressive. Going pro after a month and a half!? I guess you were a decent player before you started playing online?

Not really actually, I also think being a good live player will work against you online.
but did this for semi-impressive. My hands became paralysed and I lost my job because of it, so I read every poker book and practiced 40 hours a week. I couldnt afford health insurance and I couldnt find a job do to the hand thing. I was almost on the street, or worse, back to living my parents. Then, I became a bad ass poker player, raised enough money for surgery, which I played for in cash, and am now living on my own planning a euopean vacation. How sweet is that for a poker story.

I was also a magic player in highschool, so that is what it is.

Made $200 in the last 3 weeks of December - my first month playing online. Lost all but $10 when school started up again (won't be playing while sleep patterns are completely out of whack in the future). I've made $40 of that back in the last week or so.

I shoot for about 1k/month. I usually 2- or 3-table $1/$2 6-max limit tables, but I sometimes do full ring, SNGs, MTTs, or $.5/$1 NL for variety.

I started playing about 8 months ago, and I quit my job 5 months ago when I decided I could make a decent enough profit playing poker. 1k/month isn't great, but I'm only playing the equivalent amount of time as a part-time job, and I can wake up as late as I want, and take days off whenever I feel like it, so it's all worth it.

And to top it off, I get an automatic raise every few weeks as my skills improve. Still waiting 'til I get that huge raise when I decide to move up limits. But I feel confident at beating $1/$2 for now, and I'm making enough to pay the rent and bills, so I'm going to stick with it for a while. Since I am making my living off this, I have to be careful with bankroll management. So I'm not gonna jump limits until I have a big enough bankroll that I can take a huge loss at higher limits and still have enough money left to go back to lower limits and pay the bills.

thenonsequitur, you inspire me; hopefully I can put a dent into college tuition and board if I can keep up on my game. Hopefully.

I made about $500/month playing party 50NL in November and December. This month I'm up about 2k, mainly because I made 1k in a mtt on party, plus I discovered NL ring on Pacific. I expect that this month is flukey and $500/month is what I can expect.

Before I found FTR towards the end of September, I was a losing player. In October I about broke even.

No. For some of us the cons outweigh the positives in regards to commiting a large sum of money to BR a game where you can lose it all in a single stroke of bad timing.

I know I'm not the only one with a mouth to feed, but I can't justify not feeding the family because I lost the money in a "game".

For all you that can sustain a living doing this. More power to you.
