I cant gain weight, but that might hcange now that Im in my new apartment. My brother and his freind are my roomates and Im pretty sure its gonna be a diet of beer and take out, with a little bit of unhealthy cooking mixed in (think taco night with undrained ground beef ftw.) My brothers freind also has a gym membership, I might get one too. | |

I'm in pretty much the same boat. Its the beer thats killing me, I started drinking 3-4 beers a night 4 nights a week just like you back in december when I turned 21. I've probably gained 10 lb since. | |

I hit 192lbs today and I'm hoping to hit the duece by summer! I was there once through the legitimate way. This time I'm just eating a lot and being lazy. Maybe I'll lift a little just because I can see myself being that guy with the bigger body and weak arms hanging at the sides. | |

Jishu, weight training won't lose weight. Even if you build the muscle you will still have all that fat covering it. Have you seen professional body builders in their off season when they're not posing for magazines or competitions? They just look like fat guys. | |

I'm definately not formally educated in the subject, but I'm just going on what I know. I didn't mean weaight lifting is pointless. But from the sounds of it, you guys are saying all it takes is power lifting and building some muscle, then the rest takes care of itself. I think that's got to be completely wrong. | |

Just for arguments sake, some of the things in this thread I have read are just plain wrong. Do not take this the wrong way, since most of the US and Canada are fed lies everyday about nutrition and exercise.
