very exciting fight, reminds me of a hockey fight. I went down to watch the two last pride fighting championships , and the last one i went to had henderson vs silva which was great but also nick diaz vs takanori gomi, and that fight was very similar to this in that it had some crazy exchages and had the crowd on its feet i've never experienced anything like the intensity and electricity that was going through the building during round one of that fight. i'm sure theres a good youtube vid for it as well.

Rutten definately was his kick into professional competitive fighting, but street fighting is a technique that is actually taught as a martial art. It's used by a lot of fighters in the MMA circuit. Kimbo was the biggest underground competitor in the western hemisphere back in what, '98? He may not have been one of the first MMA fighters, but he was definately one of the first to bring it from the street to the cage.

I'm a huge fan of MMA as well. Recently I started studying some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Montreal and it's been an awesome experience. Georges St. Pierre (former UFC Titleholder) as well as some other ufc guys are in the gym i take classes at sometimes and it's pretty amazing the level of athlete that they are. Georges for example trains his jiu jitsu where I train (except i train with fellow noobs), then he trains his boxing at another place with world class Montreal boxers, then his wrestling with the Canadian national wrestling team etc...

One thing I don't love about MMA is the steroids. Here's a list of confirmed juicers.
