for real. i hate when people say what swiggidy said, its just dumb. no one ever said they like blue moon because "ZOMG!!!!! YOU GET TO DRINK IT WITH PRETTY FRUIT IN IT!!!!!111!!1". It just accents the beer and helps bring out all of the flavor.
fwiw, i love blue moon with the orange in it, and its just so-so without it

omfg this is so stupid. its not that the beer needs it to taste good, its just a matter of fact that some beer goes well with fruit. for example, i would never put a lime in a stout or porter, but with light lagers and wheat beers (lemon), they just go well together.
zook hit it on the head.
Beer is made with water, barley, hops and yeast. If you're arguing good beer you can't include beer + fruit.
If you love a heiferweizen, then you like blue moon without an orange: good
You think the orange is necessary for blue moon to be good: bad
Corona without a lime: bad
Putting a lime in Natty Ice: good
I'm not going to make fun of your choice of drink, or give you a lecture about why you're wrong. Get drunk have fun. But if you're debating "good beer" you should be arguing for beer, not a flavored drink.
I hate hating in a beer thread. I blame spenda for dragging me into this one.
