I need help

    Default I need help

    TOTALLY stabbing in the dark

    But could someone find me a material that matches these specs:

    This is for a tensile specimen

    Ultimate Strength: 56.99 ksi (kips/in^2 (a kip is 1000lbs or 2 rillas))
    .2% offset Yield Strength: 44.12 ksi
    modulus of elasticity: about 9000 (9051.787)ksi

    This is for a take home test. Im supposed to find this material and cite the source (never taken a materials course, just one lecture so I have no resources (and she knows this is true for everyone in the class))

    ASTM A 653 SQ Grade 40 Special with a minimum yield strength of 42 ksi and a minimum ultimate strength of 56 ksi

    What do I win?

    I'm just so fucking tired, I am losing every ounce of patience I have. And I have to get up early tomorrow to study all day... for the fifth day in a row.

    Anyway, I dont understand 16-gauge, galvanized and what they do to the material specs. And I don't think she'd give us something like that.

    I took materials and can explain what the terms mean if you really care.

    So far looks like brass except for the elasticity (brass is around 14K)

    Why don't you think it could be galvanized steel?

    I ended up taking Aluminum 6070-T6

    10k elasticity and close but biggish on the other two
