I will admit that my original post was a TARP, and now I shall briefly explain.

By Higher Religion I meant the esoteric study of the basic laws/principles of the universe as we know it - this is the kinda stuff that many esoteric/mystic groups have dedicated themselves to.

What I'm getting at is:- The mystic studies the universe through intellectual intuition and the scientist studies the universe through mathematical formulae - surely the two aren't that different?

Regardless, root creationism isn't in the least bit irrational (though it is somewhat a cop-out), it's young earth creationism that reeks of "dumb-dumb-dumb dumb dumb".
