    Default Insane injustice from Nevada

Due to an atrocious law, evil prosecutor, and a judge that didn't wanna do the right thing, a woman is sentenced to life in prison for making a 13 year old touch her boob

    http://www.cfcamerica.org/index.php?...news&Itemid=96

    Video of sentencing

YouTube - NV Woman Sentenced To Life For Forcing 13 Yr.Old Boy To Touch Her Breasts!

This is so bad. People are stupid, they believe stupid things, they elect people to pass stupid laws, everybody lacks empathy and the desire to not royally fuck people that aren't themselves, then this heinous shit happens. It's one thing to make a law that fits the crime, but it's something else entirely to railroad people for fitting into a semantic technicality that pays no heed to context or justice

I fully support charging the prosecutor, judge, and those who voted for the law with treason of humanity.

Cliffs: If you're too lame to watch the video, watch it. If you're even lamer than that, somebody was sentenced to life in prison for being convicted of 'lewd conduct'. Not premeditated murder, not vicious rape, not child molestation, but lewd conduct. The fucking jury wasn't even allowed to be told what the sentencing would be

Next time you wanna feel up a minor, kill him afterward. You'll shave 20 years off come sentencing.

What is lewd conduct and how is it different than child molestation?

if a guy got drunk and had a 13 year old family friend touch his cock, would we be appalled by the sentencing?

To be clear, I think this is absurd.. but its just interesting how we brush off sexual abuse when the woman is the abuser, yet we want to nail a guy to a cross for essentially the same thing.

Ya, I keep pretending that the lawyer is bawling in front of a judge pleading for mercy, except the villain is a man who forced a 13 year old girl to touch his cock and ask for sex.

I understand that many oppose that the punishment fits the crime but I will not be convinced that there is not any sexism going on here unless I find out that no man has been punished this harshly for a similar crime.

Well the article said that sentence was mandatory for the specific crime...not to say that it isn't fucking ridiculous.

NFL player Donte Stallworth gets legally drunk, runs over and kills a pedestrian and serves 24 days in jail, and gets 8 years of probation. WHAT THE FUCK AMERICA!?!?!?

After he sentenced her, Memeo said he was bound by state statute to impose the life sentence, but said he isn’t sure why the prosecution chose to charge her under that statute.
    What a pussy.

Ok, there has to be news stories and public outrages about this. Where the riots at?

Why the fuck is the defense attorney crying while defending her client?

Imagine being that defense attorney and totally failing at getting your client a lesser sentence. I'd cry too.

This is the exact reason why I hate taking my kids to the park. I can just see helping a crying kid off the top of the monkey bars and his dad shows up on my doorstep 2 hours later saying his kid told him I touched his pee-pee. What are you supposed to say to something like that?
  14. #14
Wouldn't be surprised if the attorney is pro bono, and being emotionally involved in something this terrible also doesn't surprise me

It's lewdness, not molestation. Apparently suggesting a crime now gets you a life behind bars. The problem is the whole mandatory law thing for something rather relatively benign. They're not allowed to factor in that she was drunk, qualifies for psychologically unfit, etc

And yeah, if this was a man, I would be just as mad becuase it's LEWDNESS not MOLESTATION. This is so bad that you could get sentenced for life for PEEING IN PUBLIC. The child in this case probably suffered more psychological damage from everybody's reaction to the experience than the experience itself. Some people are monsters and ruin childrens' entire lives, but this is not even close to one of those situations

I have no doubt that this law is a product of a scared electorate, pandering politicians, and the hugely lucrative money grubbing prison industry. If you ever wonder why there are so many stupid stupid things that can put you in prison it's because incarceration is hugely lucrative for some people

I feel no sympathy. She allowed him to touch her boob out of wedlock. Here in Bible Belt, TN, we do not take kindly to such actions.

Yeah, it's reeeeeeeeeeeeeaally bad. Especially in cases that involve children or women alleged rape. If you wanna get paranoid as fuck, read about what I believe were the Kern county molestation convictions in the 80s (I may have gotten the county wrong, bvut the rest of the details are correct)

Basically, about a dozen people, some husbands and wives, were convicted of child molestation, and served over a collective 100 years in prison before being found innocent and released. Two of them died in prison.

The cops basically railroaded them so bad by ignoring all the evidence and forcing false confessions from their kids so badly that even one of the kids today actually believes he was molested even though he has no recollection of it and the evidence shows that he wasn't molested. None of them were

One of the kids, twenty years later with his own family, said that he's often afraid of his own son because he remembers how badly he was manipulated by the cops to believe something that didn't happen when he was like seven years old, and destroy many peoples' lives because of it

Molestation and rape are terrible, but an staggering number of people convicted of it are innocent. It's such a monstrous topic in the public's mind that simply being accused = guilty. I remember reading a case a few months ago about a man who was released after five years in prison when the woman who claimed he raped her came out saying it was a lie because she didn't want her friends to think she was a whore. She completely ruined that man's life, yet all she got was a slap on the wrist

Seriously, in so many places in the US, all it takes to spend your life in prison is a woman accusing you of raping her. It's disgusting. Actually, it's worse than disgusting.

I know the case you are talking about wuf. I think it ended up starting with a lady who didnt want to pay childcare fees so made up a molestation story to get some extra cash. When the others in the daycare found out about the allegations they basically told their children they were abused until they truly believed they were.

The two who died in prision killed themselves because.. well lets face it everyone knows people who abuse children get the, "special treatment".

As for the original topic, what are the standard sentances for male child abusers? I feel like altough women are usually given lighter treatment, even men dont get life.
  21. #21
Honestly, I'm not too worried about what kind of sentences child abusers get because even the lightest charges are usually virtual death sentences. Anybody convicted of child molestation will get viciously beaten and raped in prison, and if they're not in prison, they're pseudo-exiles

The problem is that this law literally broad brushes all forms of sexual misconduct and puts it solely at the discretion of the prosecutor. She literally got prosecuted for a crime she didn't commit. This would be like if you were on a jury, and you convicted somebody of small-time money laundering, yet were never told that the state statute requires mandatory life sentencing.

I guarantee the lobbyists for the bill were people who make money off of incarceration. That's actually a GINORMOUS problem in our country, yet almost nobody acknowledges it, even the libruls. If you want marijuana legal or prisons to not be overrun with minorities, eliminate extreme profit incentives in the justice industry

I recall a case within the last six months or so where like a 16 year old latin kid got like 25 years for graffiti. This shit is evil

It is an appellate court's decision to determine if the law is unconstitutional - and this case will almost certainly make it to the State Supreme Court. A trial court judge, rarely, if ever, makes this type of decision, and in some states do not even have the power to rule on the constitutionality of a law.

^ also, it's interesting to note the judge's reaction to having to impose this sentence (see last 30 seconds of the youtube clip). He, in effect, questioned the motivation of the prosecution in cases such as this with respect to choice of charge and no option of plea bargaining. He doesn't seem very happy that the woman concerned is going down for life, but it's likely he has no other option.

What a piss poor defense attourney.

Also. I love the fact that the prosecuting attourney motioned for "Fair Play" under the 10 day rule when she was fighting to reduce an obsurd sentencing..

This is absolutely hillarious. Don't break the fuckin' law is the lesson here. Pot Possession may get you shot to death by a crazy guy wearing a gorrilla suit!
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes

does anyone really allow them selves to believe that prisons in the US better anyone? Our corrections system has pretty much given up on reform.

those making the argument comparing a boob grab to a dick grab - you can't be cereal??? Boobs are not a sexual part of our reproduction, they're labeled as such and hidden because of society. The magnitude of difference between boobs and penis n vagina is astounding. If she had the kid fingerbang him then you could make that comparison but cmon.

and def w boost 100%, they don't care about corection. It's not the point of prision. It's to remove a threat from society.

Which is true, it not even like a boob-grab is a greenlight for the kid to engage in the actual lewd acts. He's probably just blown away by the boob he's grabbing.

Well, right, but there is a fair comparison that can be made that highlights that a man being sentenced this way would not conjure up such an uproar. Im not exactly sure what that is, but there is something.. maybe a man having a girl (or boy.. not sure that it matters) suck on his indext finger.
