I use Ares, http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/ , but limewire should be fine. Not legal to dl copywritten material without paying for it.

I use torrents. www.bitlord.com and www.torrentspy.com. It's not legal but you're worse off uploading then downloading.

limewire is great for individual songs. Torrent/IRC is better for full albums. Its gotten to the point where there is a negligible time difference between grabbing a whole CD and an individual song so I havent downloaded an individual song in months.

I've got an iPod video and I use uTorrent to download my torrents. Mainly I use mininova.org to get albums/movies/tv shows - I re-encode the videos myself unless there is a decent torrent for an mp4 version on ipodnova.tv

i use forums where ppl post links to their files at rapishare and things. its the safest way, since you dont have to dl a client and you´re not dling via p2p but use a direct connection.

Those are awesome XTR. Unfortunately its been my experience that the downloads disappear quickly once a site realizes why one link is getting hammered so hard. So theyre either hard to find, or dont last long.

I have a DSL connection, and at limewire it takes 20mins to download a song, is this normal? Whats a standard time everywhere else?

I can build a play list faster than I can listen. Use the search feature and let the search run for a minute or two. Only pick songs with 10 or more people to download, or it takes too long.
