cramer looked like he was about to cry, especially in the last 8 minutes or so when stewart wtfpwned him. i've never really liked cramer's show but now i really don't like him. he's pathetic really. he goes on his show and gets humiliated and begs for forgiveness.

i think he's pretty much right. stewart is unique because he is extremely liberal and partisan, yet you can't criticize him for it because he is a comedian and not a journalist. i think he recognizes that and uses it to his advantage because he can attack people like tucker carlson (who by the way i have never seen besides the clip of stewart ripping into him), and carlson can't attack back because stewart hides behind his comedic status.

The irony is in Tucker calling Stewart a partisan hack, because Tucker is by far a more partisan commentator than Stewart. Stewart is obv a Democrat in his leanings but Tucker Carlson has been a Republican idealogue and mouthpiece for, like, forever, and not a subtle one at that.

I have no trouble just listening to Stewart and trusting his opinions are based on what he thinks and observes. I dont think he's a left-team player trying to protect his boy Obama. I think Tucker is trying to make it appear that way and he sound desperate in his attempt. Stewart doesn't take criticisms because he's not playing politics, he's just sitting on the side pointing his finger and calling bullshit for bullshit. Tucker's trying to pull him in so that ppl like me have to start thinking about him as a liberal talking head. Screw that noise.

Watched the entire thing online. Was epic in the wtfpwnage firestorm that Cramer walked into.

But Stewart did a good job saying that it was more MSNBC that he had a problem with rather than Cramer. MSNBC is a steaming pile of crap as far as financial news goes; by the time you hear about it on there, the market has already acted on the information and you're pretty much dead in the water if you try to trade on it.

Kudos to Cramer for going onto the show though; he really had almost nothing to gain and went on anyway.

I think Stewart played this perfectly, the entire week before the interview he made it seem more of a fun thing than a serious issue. Then, Cramer comes on stage and BAM, he never saw it coming. You could tell Cramer seemed blindsided by Stewart and he never really recovered. Eventually Stewart wore him down and Cramer just started admitting everything.

I watched Stewart/Maher's shows after Obama was elected to see what they would have to talk about now that there main centerpiece was out of the White House. I honestly expected dead silence or constant praise for Obama no matter what his actions were. I was pleasently surprised that they were both critical of Obama and his plans they did not agree with. It shows that they were really just saying what they actually believed and not just jumping on the anti-Bush bandwagon. It lends more weight to all the things they have said over the past 8 years (which were all things that NEEDED to be said)

The anti-Bush bandwagon is only marginally better than the pro-Bush bandwagon. I hate all isms, bandwagons and fanatics with a passion. Everything and anything that just hands you a ready-made mold of ideals, opinions and ways to see the world just hinder progress and creativity. Think for your fucking self. If the only reason you have an opinion is because someone or something dictates you should, keep it to yourself. How the hell can people just pick up a political party/religion/ideology and agree with EVERYTHING it stands for, never question anything about it and resist, refute and ridicule everything that differs from that set of ideals. Read books, follow the news, learn from history, debate things, think with an open mind. If someone's too stupid/lazy/whatever for that, they shouldn't be allowed to vote, talk in public or procreate. Social Darwinism FTW. I need a beer.

Although Cramer did get owned i have to say that is was only because cramer didn't defend himself properly. Stewart kept making the point that Cramer's advice was wrong recently and oh god he has these commercials "in cramer we trust" but he is wrong, omg!

It's like if i had a poker TV show and i told everyone it's good to reraise AA preflop, but then in the wsop final table 3 people lost with AA after reraising and jon stewart sayings "wow max why are you telling people this, you were wrong! you are obviously scandalous!"

If someone doesn't think the market is hard to beat and even the best investors aren't going to be wrong a lot, then you are seriously delusional.

That being said, i'm not going to take advice from a TV show. His books on savings are good though.

Yup, american news source are horrible. I listen to morning talk radio which claims that obama has proven than 100 days into his presidency, he's beyond a doubt the worst president ever. It constantly runs "Bush was right!" segments. And claims the current economic climate was created in prediction to the Obama Economic admition. Quinn and Rose in the morning. It's incredible for waking me up in the morning by raising my ire.

re max, i dont think Stewart was keying on the fact that Cramer was wrong but instead constantly building a climate of buying fervor. Trying to paint Cramer as one of many insiders who knew the only way to continue an unrealistically booming economy was to keep stretching the American investor further and further.

All I took from it was: American TV sucks, Stewart is a smart comedian doing a comedians job. Make humorous commentary. Cramer's name comes up a lot but I don't think any less of him through the entire episode.

In other news, I believe the numbers on Cramer are something like 46%-48% of the time he is right. So it would be smarter to just flip a coin than listen to him.

But yeah, the interview wasn't about that at all. It was about how CNBC has neglected their roles as journalists, and that had they been on the ball they would have seen this coming and have given the news to the public instead of cheerleading for the stock market.

I was not saying that there was not legitimate reasons to dislike him. (I can think of many many reasons I don't) My point was that the media (no matter what form it takes) is more concentrated on capturing viewers and feeding fires. There are many people who built a career off of Bush bashing to appeal to the general masses while he was not popular because it was an easy instant winnner. That is what I meant by "Bandwagon."

Funny story I just heard about Rush Limbaugh from my father. When he was a kid, he used to work on a the back of a garbage truck and one day he saw a bunch of bikers hanging out in front of some diner. "You know who that is? It's Jeff Christy." Well Jeff Christy was Rush Limbaugh back in his days of being a DJ in for the Pittsburgh area.

They purposely spent a good portion of their days earnings to grab a burger and soda just to chat it up with the future radio super-voice. Apparently he was a real cool guy. He used to run a gag where he'd call a girl at a local store on line 1 then call another girl at the same store on line 2 and claim he could see through the phone as he relayed what girl 1 would say about the ppl in girl 2's checkout.

Just something about seeing these political symbols as humans (at some point in their lives) that's cool. Apparently he's trying to become a small investor in the Steeler franchise as some of the Rooney Brothers are trying to liquidate.
