I don't really pay attention, but I think it's like 6 or 7 buy ins lost in one day. (I only play 4 tables) |

For CASH games, if you're following good bankroll management of not allowing yourself to lose more than 5% in any one day and playing at a bankroll of at least 30 buy-ins and no more than 60 buy-ins, after crunching the numbers, you should never lose more than 1.5 to 3 buy-ins per day. Obviously you can lose more buy-ins if you either don't follow those rules or play at stakes with a bankroll of more than 60. For most stakes, though, when you reach 60 buy-ins, you're rolled and ready for the next stake.

Obviously anyone can tweak the rules as they see fit, but for me, I think 5% of your entire bankroll is pretty significant in general, but especially in the context of one day. I don't think it's a good idea to allow yourself the freedom to lose significant chunks of it. If you're going to go broke, it should happen gradually, just like it was built up. I think it's acceptable to put up to 10% of your roll in play @ one time through multi-tabling, but to actually lose an amount should be no more than 5%. Theoretically, yes, it doesn't really matter how much you lose in one day or ever as long as you're making good decisions and not tilting, but how many posts do we read about people not quitting when they should have? With bankroll decisions, if making an error, always do so to the side of caution.
