I haven't heard of a virus that affects your keyboard in such a way, but you might want to check around for one, do a Mcafee virus scan. Although I'm pretty sure that this is a problem with the keyboard itself.

You can get a cheapo keyboard for under $10. I'd just pick one up and see.
    I run a training site...

Check out strategy videos at GrinderSchool.com, from $10 / month.

Same thing happened to my wife. It ended up being a setting that she could change, under control panel I believe. She had no idea how it got set that way tho.

that'd be key repeat rate. Try changing it to a lower value.

Tried this. I have it set to the fastest posible and it stil no dice. I also bought a cheapo keyboard. No such luck. WTF?!?!?!?!?! I also did a Mcafe scan for a virus. No dice there either.

[ShotInTheDark] If it is not one of the two keyboard settings under Control Panel, could it be an oldschool dos-type command in your startup? Or an Accessability setting under Accessories? [/ShotInTheDark]
    I'm a know-it-all.

    No, really.

Do you have any external software installed? I know Logitech has a software manager for keyboards and mice that take precedent over the windows control panel.
    Just a thought.
