    Default Learning to juggle

Always wanted to so I am learning to.

I am up to 4 throws. Not bad for starting on Sunday night.

Anyone here know how to juggle or aspire to learn something pointless that is cool? Being able to do pointless semi impressive stuff is kinda my thing

    Mitch Hedberg (yes, again):
About once every three years I think about buying a yo-yo. I’ll be at the store and I’ll come upon the yo-yo section. And I’ll fantasize about mastering it to the point where it becomes a reference as to who I am. “Do you know Mitch Hedberg? Is he that guy that kicks ass on the yo-yo?” Yes I do. He is cool.

    Same here.

I was 14 and home sick with the flu from school. For some fucked up reason I was watching Regis & Kathy Lee and they had a pro juggler on there and he gave them a few tips. I picked it up pretty quick.

A couple days ago it took me only a couple minutes to teach my gf's younger brother. It's a cool little skill to have... Like driving standard.

uhh.. driving a manual car is a much cooler skill to have, since if you dont have it you probably arent much of a man.

However it is cool to know how to juggle. I can do 3, 1up2down2up1down or whatever and also the rainbow or whatever where one ball travels over top of the other 2. 2 in one hand as well ofc.

Its a lot of fun in the kitchen, Ill be getting some produce and be walking back to my station with it and start juggling it. Gotta make sure chef doesnt see though, Ill get reemed.
You-- yes, you-- you're a cunt.

1: Juggling is a about making good throws, not amazing catches.

2: the motion for juggling should be practiced before juggling itself is practiced.
a Standing with your feet shoulder width apart, with your arms hanging down at your sides, bend your elbows 90 degrees so they are directly forward.
b move your right hand in a U shape that goes away from your body, to the right, but not away towards the front. Bring your hand in the U shape to about belt height,. The outter most part of the U should come UP the center of your body. Your hand should always be about 3 inches from your chest
    C) repeat the motion with your left hand (no balls in hand at this point)
    D) Alternate. It seems silly... but this is the "perfect" juggling motion.

3: If you do it right... the ball from your right hand... will pass the ball from your left hand while they are in mid air, AND the right hand ball will pass on the LEFT side of the left hand ball.. and vice versa.

that's proper form. I can juggle 3, and I'm working on 4.. but I never really tried to learn.
The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which unskilled individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average. This bias is attributed to a metacognitive inability of the unskilled to recognize their mistakes

I have a friend who is a juggler. If I'm at his house, I don't like to take food from him, if it's in threes. He has three apples left, I guess I can't have one. I wouldn't want to screw up his practice routine.
I am actually learning with limes lol

    Same here. From my experience...

Tip #1: Probably shouldn't start with pool balls.
Tip #2: If ignoring Tip #1, should probably put your cat in another room.

I went to the store and bought eight apples; the clerk said, "Do you want these in a bag?" I said, "Oh, no, man, I juggle."

    Drinking your milkshake.
Got into juggling a few years ago its actaully pretty relaxing once you can keep it going a while. I got a few basic 3 ball tricks down, was working on mills mess but never really got there - I'd end up chasing them around the room.

This guy is a bit good IMO : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzS61...eature=related

The pattern at the end is absolutely sick.

This guy has a cool poker/juggling website. That shows how to do a ton of tricks.

This summer I should bust out my unicycle(yeah I am wierd I have a unicycle) and learn to ride so I can juggle while riding a unicycle. HA

I self taught myself. Get good at 2 in one hand first. Its harder, but once you get it then 3 in 2 hands is a piece of cake. It teaches you about how to throw them so they dont hit each other.

    Once learnt, never lost .
Just dipping my toes back in.
