btw the clip is from after game 4. When the pistons were walking in the tunnel back to the locker room, sheed takes off his jersy and kinda swings it and it goes flying back right into the face of an assistant or security guard behind him in a nice suit. Great video and TNT's coverage is great as always (except tonight when Miller was acting like a gigantic douchebag).

4 titles in 9 yrs, thanks Pistons for not taking Cleveland seriously.

Lebron better get ready for Bruce to kick him in the nuts and step on his heels, oh yea, and to actually get guarded.

You can't tell me the pistons weren't taking Cleveland seriously

Lukie, it's nice to see a 50pt performance is good enough for you to jump on the bandwagon

    I think I did.

I know Lebron's a man-child or whatever they call I guy that couldn't be an all-NBA first teamer. I love 1-dimensional teams, look at what the Spurs have faced. We're going to let Lebron get 35 a night but they'll be lucky to be back in SA for game 5. Wait, is the finals a 2-3-2 series or a 2-2-1-1-1? It's been different in the past.

The Pistons are taking the Cavs seriously, it's ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

I can't imagine being proud of having Bowen and his dirty play on my team, and then bragging about said dirty play.

Do you really need to mention the Spurs in every post you make?

I don't have to mention them in every post

Seriously, I had no idea Lebron had a kid. Is he being serious here?

I think the cavs have a better chance of beating the spurs than the pistons do.

Spurs are still clearly better than both though and will have home court regardless.

working myself up to FTR fullhouse status while not giving 1 solid piece of advice
i had to eat my words a bit today - I like Lebron, but it seemed like everytime I saw him this year (6 or 7 games) he would really shrink away in the 4th quarter. I love his game, but he didn't seem to have that take over mentality - Last night was monstrous....maybe Dirk's chump ass was watching somewhere and taking notes....

the spurs are great, but i hate them - and that Utah series was so damn boring...cle/det. has been great though -

Cle/Det has been a great series, as good as DAL/GS.

There have been some great games in these playoffs but it seems like they are still all lacking like a huge shot. No one has hit some ridiculous 3 to win a game. I mean, yea, Lebron came up HUGE last night in the 4th qtr but they were all dunks. DET should be disgusted that they didn't make him finish it at the line in the 4th.

If you need a stupid buzzer beater to make a game exciting for you then I feel bad for you. Last night we witnessed one of the greatest individual playoff performances in any sport ever.

OMG you're kidding right? One of the best ever? He scored cuz no one else on his team could. It was absolutely disgusting how bad of defense DET played on him. For acting all tough they certainly did not put him on his ass near enough. On their own home floor they let someone keep shoving it down their throats and they did nothing about it in the biggest game of the year. Detroit was done the day Flip Saunders walked through the door and made them believe they could outscore people. But hey, at least you guys showed Varejo (or however the fuck you spell it) who's boss.

    lol

5 very good, very close games, all of them coming down to the end of the game or virtually the end of the game

what more do you want as a sports fan?

ps. if the cavs could just find a way to bury the pistons tomorrow by 20 or more it would go a long way towards lowering my blood pressure and improving my overall sanity

Please. I've been a huge Spurs fan since the early 90s which is as far back as I can remember.

If you don't believe me look at ESPN.com's analyst opinions of his performance. Some of them don't even consider it a top 10 playoff performance of all time. So what, the dude threw some dunks down. He made a couple jumpers, he's Lebron fucking James. He's supposed to do that. It took him long enough to do it.

I wouldn't expect someone who hasn't seen a championship in a while to understand what actual effort looks like in a basketball team.

I started following the NBA around 1994 and this is easily one of the three best playoff series I've ever seen, if not the best. I agree that it's otherwise been a lackluster playoffs. The Spurs-Suns series could have been great but it was ruined by stupid BS. Even the Dallas-GS series was exciting more for the novelty of GS being in the playoffs after so long and knocking off a #1 seed, and not because particularly great basketball was played. But Detroit and Cleveland are playing at such a high level, every game is so intense, it's been awesome. If you can't appreciate this series as a sports fan, that's a shame.

Good defense is the same as committing hard fouls and knocking people to the ground? Are you sure you're not confusing the NBA with the WWE? On most of those possessions Detroit did a fine job of clogging the lane and forcing LeBron to take contested jump shots, which he made anyway.

Also, here are two stupid things that stupid people are saying and need to stop:

    1. The Cavs suck apart from LeBron / Mike Brown sucks / they need to blow the team up this offseason. This is a team that has a very realistic chance to win an NBA championship this year. Why on earth would you mess with success? As for Brown, I don't know if you guys remember how bad the Cavs played defense before he got there, but I do. If the Cavs fire Brown and trade Larry Hughes this summer the way many seem to want, I can promise that the Cavs will have no chance at shutting down the Pistons' guards the way they have in this series.

    2. The Pistons don't take the Cavs seriously. How anyone can have watched these games and concluded that the Pistons weren't trying, is beyond me. Both teams are playing so tough. The Pistons do make some comments to the media that disrespect the Cavs but that's just them trying to get in the Cavs heads IMO.

I can't wait for the game tonight. It's been years since I've been this excited about a game, that didn't involve the Colts or the Pacers.

wow, quicken loans arena is falling apart.

no, scratch that, the entire city of cleveland is falling apart.

arrrrrghggghghg so frustrating, cavs looked mighty good at the end of the first and after that delay have played far, far worse.

Congrats guys. Really disappointing that the Pistons quit in the 4th quarter, it took away from what was otherwise an awesome series.

He scored 29 of the teams last 30 points, is he "supposed" to do that? If you want to bring ESPN into it, if you watched Around the Horn, PTI, and Sportcenter the day after game 5, all the analysts and sportswriters said it ranked right up there with MJ's 63, MJ's flu game, and Magic's 42.

This is just an ignorant statement. I guess 3 years ago is a while ago and 2 years ago isn't? You're talking like the team you're a fan of determines your amount of basketball knowledge. You can't tell me that if you grew up in Michigan, you wouldn't be a Pistons fan. I know I would be a Spurs fan if I grew up in SA. The people of New York, Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles haven't seen a championship in "a while" I guess they don't understand basketball either, right?

I guess we should have tried the Bruce Bowen approach to defense and tried to injure him by going for his achilles and undercutting him after he takes jumpshots.
  37. #37
Honestly, who cares what the people at ESPN think? ESPN is for fans who don't care enough to watch the games live and want to tune in for a 60-second synopsis after it's over. Those of us who watch NBA basketball on a regular basis don't need ESPN to tell us how great James's performance was.
