Bob,
Surely you can see it's beyond retarded to claim baseball's popularity is at an all-time high because of gross revenue unadjusted for inflation? Its market share and its revenue relative to the other major sports would mean a lot more. I don't follow baseball though, and you do, so unlike some posters here I'll shut up when I clearly don't know what I'm talking about.
Chopper,
"My aces have gotten cracked three in a row. Tells you all you need to know about me as a player. Phil Ivey would never let that happen." If you can recognize that this is terrible logic then why do you think this way about sports? The best team doesn't always win. That's why you shouldn't judge a team unless you've watched them play (or at least looked carefully at their stats); otherwise you can't tell whether they played well despite losing or played badly despite winning.
From your posts it's like if you lose a game, then you suck, and if you win a game, then it means nothing because the team you just beat now has a loss which means they suck. This is awesome logic because it lets us totally ignore on-the-field performance and just judge teams by their historical reputation.
