yo I agree with a lot of the stuff you said at the end of your post, but the guy was an iconic figure. he was bigger than Elvis Presley, bigger than anything.......ever. I'm only 29 (almost 30........fuck), but there was a generation that followed him religiously. He was the goddman man, he was the show-stopper, the best entertainer (what some say) ever.

I am ambivalent but my wife has been in tears since yesterday.

No question the guy lead a very strange life, but it is undeniable that his entertainment talent was exceptional.

As the father of two daughters who were molested, one by a second cousin of the family and the other by a female babysitter, I am more moved by the notion that one less (alleged) child molester is gone.

If he was innocent, then what extraordinarily horrible muckraking he endured, but if he was guilty then he got off much easier than he deserved. And yes, I know that molesters are almost always the product of molestation, but when you become an adult ALL of your choices are your own, including the ones you feel compelled to do because of childhood trauma.

meh, I'm 29 and while not sad by the news I do feel a sense of strangeness to be in a world without MJ. Anyone my age grew up knowing MJ was it, the one, the biggest name in entertainment ever.
