    Default Monitor discussion time again

I know that 1600x1200 is a good res for no overlap.

    19" LCD's are today's topic

1280x1024 is what seems to be the max resolution of any 19" LCD that I see. What kind of overlap are you going to get 4 tabling Party with that?

I can get a no-name 19" crt for 1/2 of an LCD that will do 1600x1200. Am I better off going with this?

I don't want to be spending $500+ on a monitor. That just isn't in the budget right now.

look for coupons on a dell 20.1 or whatever its called, you can get them for around 400 I think if you find the right coupons. Ive never done this but I know people on this board have. In all honesty I think thats your best bet. If you ABSOLUTELY cant spend that much, get a nice 19" viewsonic crt, thats what I have, Ive had it for about 2 years, cost me about 200 back then and Im pretty happy with it. You can probably get one for like 150 now. But I would highly suggest just waiting til you can get that 20 inch dell, you wont be happy with anything less in the long run.

As for the question about 1280x1024... dont buy anything that cant do 1600x1200, its a waste of money. You can pretty much exactly fit 4 on 1600x1200 anything less is going to have enough of an overalp to be really annoying.

Never read any stickies or announcements
I just bought the 30 inch ultrasharp monitor from dell, I'm gonna be setting that system up today and hi speed internet is going to be set up next week. I can 9-table no overlap on that beast, not that I'm necessarily going to.

For poker, if you can't 4-table without overlap, it's too small. The monitor I'm currently using has bad overlap 4-tabling and it's a severe hinderance. If you have budget limitations, I'd just go with a big ol' crt. As long as you have the space, they're ok. Ugly, but ok. 19" that does 1600x1200 works...

I have a 17" Hansol right now. An excellent monitor in it's day, but that was 7 years ago. I have bad overlap when 4 tabling.

If I could get the Dell for $400 Cdn I would do it, but I highly doubt that is going to happen.

errr I guess dells prices are different in different countries, cuz I think you can get one for 400 usd, and thats like 300 cdn isnt it? But dell taxes the shit outta europe, but I think thats cuz computer stuff in europe is just generally more expensive.

Just get a CRT if you don't want to spend the extra money.

After pulling my head from my ass and looking more closely at my res settings, I can get this monitor to go into 1600x1200 res. Since it's only a 17" monitor, my eyes feel like they are about to explode after 3.5 hours of 4 tabling tonight.

    I need a bigger screen.

    I have a 19" and it's not that bad. If I had more space I'd go with a 21+
