    I've already invested a decent amount in camera & lenses.. around $2k but grabbing another lense & new tripod for a stocking stuffer. She's using a sh1te Viewsonic 21" monitor I picked up for free & it's definitely not cutting it.

    Damn. That's pretty bad ass.

    As far as a monitor then? I'd just search around on tigerdirect and look at the reviews and shit. 22-24 inch widescreen would be perfect imo.
