school computer lab... I find myself waking up early, not to grind, but instead to go to school so that I have internet access.
Im so pissed with my ISP right now. Whatever you do, do not ever get earthlink dsl, or any dsl for that matter. Its slower than cable, its expensive, it requires a phone land line, ect ect. Also the customer support is so fucking terrible, its all outsourced and they are poorly trained. They told me to call back in 8 hours so I could talk to a level 3 tech (apparently so he could cast level 3 script spells to fix my internets.) So I called 8 hours later got an automated message, after keying in my problem ticket, which told me to call back in 8 hours. I finally navigated through the automated phone system and found a level 1 tech (clearly with few attribute points to distribute they allocated most of them to stamina waiting for a higher level to pump some into wisdom) who tried to go through the same trouble shooting the first one did with me. I say "ok ok, just shut up Ill call back in 8 hours."
So I call back yesterday, well over 8 hours later, only to get the same message. The third level 1 tech tries again to force their troubleshooting script on me again. At this point I just start to go ballistic, because this is absurd. Finally I tell them that I want the number for customer support that handles account closures, yet they keep trying to avoid this by troubleshooting. AHHH! Finally I get the number and the person is semi competent and offers to transfer me to a higher level tech directly and assures me Ill get a refund. I wait on hold for like 30 minutes then the higher level tech tells me in a clearly and concise manner that there is some sort of mix up at the phone company and that their techs are working on it and it could take up to 48 hours to be resolved. This took less than 2 minutes where as everytime I talked to a level 1 it took half an hour (clearly the level 3 has put a large amount of attribute points into charisma.) So now Im just waiting for the problem to be fixed so I can call and bitch til I get atleast a months refund and then cancel my service after they agree.
