i'd love to see a game where the refs ignore every obvious flop. there would so many foolish looking players. it would be hilarious. i mean seriously it takes so much for a guy of "nba size" to be rocketed through the air or hammered to the floor like you see like every other time down the court. drives me nuts.

wow...wow...i feel sorry for tmac. remember that time when he was on the magic and they were up 3-1 on the hornets(?), and he said its nice to finally be in the second round, then they dropped 3 straight.

T-Mac played his ass off. In the fourth he was double/tripled teamed every time he had the ball and nobody else made him pay for it. It's tough when you have to be the teams only scorer and play maker.

The loss of Yao and Rafer is killing them now. I don't want to hear a bunch of bullshit about it though, I saw Kobe and Garnett on suck teams and guess what, they sucked.

maybe nash is just playing bad, but he just doesnt seem to be nearly as effective as he has been. it probably mainly has to with playing the spurs in the playoffs and i havent really watched much nba this year.

hah, maybe the fact that your team made THREE field goals in the 3rd quarter......

yea, who else wants to claim their team can hold the Suns to 2 pts in 10 minutes?

Too bad I was the only one that got to watch a fantastic Magic-Raptors game tonight, while all you guys were stuck watching one pretty good game and one horrible one. EASTERN CONFERENCE BASKETBALL!

Pretty lame of TNT to not at least cut to the game in the last two minutes when it was tied.

    From an ESPN chat log

Alex (Durango, CO): Why does Tony Parker fall down every time he touches the ball? Does he play on roller skates?

SportsNation David Thorpe: Yes, with small jet engines attached to the heels.

lol at the answer, but i was thinking this exact same thing last night. its obv not every time he touches the ball, but every time he goes in for a lay up he falls down, whether hes hit or not.
eeevees are not monies yet...they are like baby monies.
  25. #250
he's got to stop somehow, he hits the deck to stop himself from flying into the stands

he doesn't get nearly as many FT attempts at Lebron or D-Wade so I don't wanna hear it, he goes into the lane at least as many times a game as those guys do.
  26. #251
i'm so sick of people going for layups and landing on their backs. it's the gayest thing ever. they are just making the season that much harder on their bodies.

also, i can't believe the lack of defense on the suns' part. i know they aren't a defensive team, but they let parker do anything he wanted the entire 2nd half. they were just terrible.

he had a fellow giant friend of his that was playing on my team (i think he was some college football player) who guarded him. amare was nice though. he was passing a lot and picking and stuff and every now and then he would just run in and do a crazy dunk whenever he felt like it. pretty fun game though lol.

well i did say that it might not be overrated when talking about a rookie in his first big game/series. but for guys that have been around a while but haven't gone deep in the playoffs (garnett, gasol, etc.) it is a non-factor imo.

went into locker room limping pretty badly, but didn't look overly serious.

the game was just a joke. it's kinda funny how cleveland won by 30 in game 2, and then washington comes back and wins by 36 or whatever it was. the cavs just looked pathetic in every aspect of the game. i couldn't even bring myself to watch parts of it.

93-92 HOU with .2 seconds left and HOU shooting free throws

Clock management in basket ball is retarded at all levels. This is like Memphis not fouling at the end of the kansas game.

you could tell by his reaction after the shot went in that he (probably) wasn't trying to make it. still though, that was pretty sloppy. luckily it didn't cost them. it's hard to do anything with .2 seconds...

this is another one that can probably be put on the player (derrick rose). remember he was going for the foul, then pulled his hands off and put them in the air almost as if he was afraid to.

some of it could just be bad coaching though.
  49. #274
BOTH of those teams showed tonight why neither will win the NBA champ. this year.

Awful/horrible execution/shot selection down the stretch.

T-Mac is lolbad in the 4th qtr, and Addelman needs to be shot if those are the plays he draws up. I don't know how in the world Okur gets left wide open for 3 when everyone knows he's a 6'11" shooting-guard or how in the world D-Williams missed Boozer TWICE (wide the fuck open) on the final possession.

On top of all of that Scola somehow makes the 2nd FT which is the only way HOU could have possibly lost.

hard to watch that ugly of basketball, UTAH makes the game a brawl, somehow shoots 30+ FT's on their home court, and still manages to lose.

They looked really bad, kept taking ill advised three pointers and missing them. Also Howard was a little bit out of control. He got three offensive fouls in the third quarter.

sounds about right. they pretty much live or die by the three. but it is really really frustrating when they aren't hot. do they start picking and rolling and playing inside-out if they aren't hitting? no, they just force more of them!

the officials should be ashamed of themselves

a team that is known for being soft and shooting fade-aways has shot 33 FT's on their home court

seriously, wtf, they shot like 22 FTs in the 3rd qtr alone

replace 'mavs' with 'suns' and 'jason kidd' with 'shaq', and you have a similarly good point.
  64. #289
Both trades were horrible, but the Suns' was way worse. At least the Mavs will make the playoffs next year. Lakers, Hornets, Spurs, Jazz, Rockets, Mavs, Nuggets, Warriors, and Blazers should all be better than the Suns next year unless one of those teams has a major injury or makes a horrible trade.
  65. #290
All I know is the suns tempo is so bad with shaq up there, Nash walks the ball up the court, don't remember that happening too much before the Diesel came into town.

Anyways, being a die-hard Spurs fan I'm a lot more nervous about us blowing this series somehow than everyone else here combined. It'd be nice to get a sweep and watch DAL and NO have a tough 7 game series.

are you joking? the spurs are like the anti choke artists.

i'm quite unsure how a person can be nervous about his own defending champion team who just took a 3-0 lead in a 7 game series via a clear and convincing win on the road.

Yeah, not really sure what's going on. I can't really comment on the game either, I was watching the Tigers game.

you don't watch the Spurs enough now or in the past to know that we've always had trouble holdings leads, and ever since blowing the 2-0 lead against LA (Fisher's crazy shot in game 5 after TD's) I'm always skeptical.

Or, I could just be like the Spurs franchise, never assume anything. You hear the Spurs, they're minds are still squarely set on this series, no looking ahead at all.

i've watched the large majority of the spurs playoff games in the last 6-8 years, so i've seen them a lot, probably not as much as you though. they had some trouble down the stretch late this year in the 4th quarter, and i watched some of those games.

really though, spurs aren't going to have a problem winning this series. i predict they lose game 4 and win it in 5.

Pretty great performance by the Magic in the 4th quarter today. I really think this team is going to the conference finals.

I've actually been watching the NFL draft this whole time. Any highlights?

I think Orlando has definitely looked more impressive than Detroit so far this post-season and it's not particularly close.

I don't get how Orl wins this game

I looked at Howard after first qtr, like 12 pts 7 boards

he finishes with 19 pts and 16 board and they win, so gg to the rest of the team I guess.
