    Default NCAA Office Pool

I'm thinking about running a March Madness office pool. Here is the format: Everybody completes a bracket. The amount of points you get is based on the teams' seed. For instance, picking 7th seeded Wichita St. to beat Seton Hall would mean 7 pts. Then, in each subsequent round, the points double. If Wichita St. gets thru to the 2nd round, you'd get an additional 14 pts. Getting past the regional semis: 28 more and so on. The person with the most points at the end, wins.

What do you think of this structure? What should I do for a tie-breaker?

That seems like a pretty complicated format.
Why not just go with the ESPN, where:
    Round 1 10 pts
    Round 2 20 pts
    Round 3 40 pts
    Round 4 80 pts
    Round 5 120 pts
    Round 6 160 pts

It has the same effect of your teams accruing progressively more points for you throughout, but it doesn't force you to pick dogs to get ahead.
You get ahead by selectively picking against the chalk and you have a chance to re-evaluate at each stage.
