    Sick game. 3rd period was fucking amazing. Overtimes have been a little sloppy, but Fleury is playing out of his mind. So glad neither team scored on their OT power plays.

    During his career Lidstrom has to be one of the best, to do what he does and take almost no penalties, he is in a class on his own.

    I find comparing players from different generations to be pretty dicey at best.

    Not taking penalties isnt a good thing, it means hes a pussy imo.

    He is a great defensman, but not the best ever. He wouldnt be as good if the NHL wasnt such a pussy league.

    With todays players, they are so fats and so good at protecting the puck with their body the only way to stop them is to stick check, which Lidstrom has perfected.

    He plays extremely well within the rule set, and thats what counts.


    And yeah there are some things I do dislike about the NHL rules.
    But they do allow skilled players more room to skate and show off making the game more exciting and accessible to new fans. Hockey could always use new fans.

    Old rule set and keep hardcore fans or new rules and gain fans. Which is the lesser of two evils?
