    gary roberts is even more badass when you consider a couple of things. his age, and the fact that he retired several years ago with serious back/neck problems care of, among other things, being body slammed across the cross bar by trevor linden several years back.

    I really hope it's San Jose vs Anaheim in the west and Pittsburgh and whomever in the east because that's what I've based my playoff pool on ...

    I agree that the west is very strong this year, while the east...not so much.

    The only bad thing about the west is that whoever makes it to the final will most likely be tired and beat up.

    It seems as if every team in the east that is favoured to go far this year is a team that hasn't gone deep in the playoffs for years, while in the west, it's the same teams as last year that are favourites—Detroit, San Jose, Anaheim etc...

    Although I think if Calgary can knock off San Jose, they are going to go all the way. Just like Edmonton did two years ago.

    If I were a Caps fan I'd be so pissed... there should be no penalties in OT, especially in Game 7. BUT I'M NOT SO I DON'T GIVE A SHIT!!!!

    ya, the caps were robbed. bullshit call. the officiating was pretty bad throughout. pucks going off the screen and not being blown dead, the second philly goal was an obvious interference penalty against philadelphia, and there were numerous missed offsides.

    philly got lucky as they were clearly the second best team in that game.

    the puck was in his skates, Poti was just swatting at it. given what they let go up until that point, in both the third and the rest of overtime, that was not a penalty. The trip on Briere probably should have been called because it negated an opportunity for a scoring chance.

    I meant a goaltender interference penalty. Thoresen isn't allowed to just run the washington defenceman into Huet.

    Lol at Barry Melrose before the series started: "The Avs are going to win the series because they have the hottest goalie right now". Theodore ends up getting pulled in both of the first two games after allowing 4 goals in each lololol

    got to go to the wings game. good game for the wings, bad game if you are not a wings fan, but like to see a good back and forth game. not a very exciting game, but if your team wins, i guess that is exciting.

    I guess I was expecting something along the lines of when the avs and wings used to play in the playoffs, with faces being literally rearranged and everything else. It would also help if the avs actually showed up to play at any point during the game. 4 shots in the 1st, and 10 shots after 2 periods.
