    That one got me.
I'll give him one thing. Literally nobody quite understood how fucking stupid the entire republican voter base was before him. I believe he's still at 85% with republicans. *Scanners head explosion*
I am excited about his prime time announcement. The_Donald has their collective assholes greased and ready for a state of emergency... which if Trump gets away with declaring a state of emergency, that's a fantastic shortcut to dictatorship. That's going to be so fun from a distance. I'll get so little work done tomorrow if that's the case. That would instantly turn this into my favorite season of Handmaid's Tale so far.

My guess is it has something to do with 35% of any given population being made up of racists and/or gullible fools.

yeah, I'm looking forward to the season finale. I think that bunker ending I predicted is getting more and more likely.

How did T_D take the bad news the revolution will have to wait?

Somewhere in America, if you listen really closely, you can hear the gentle thud of 10000 semiautomatic rifles being put back in their cabinets...

While this great meme will always be lost on me, I'll take every opportunity I can get to rewatch Bruno Ganz's brilliant performance in one of the greatest historic movies ever made. That man is a national treasure.

How hard is it to just keep saying "Aaaarrrrrrghggghg!!" for 90 minutes? I guess your throat might get sore. I dunno, let's ask Banana. Oh wait, he's banned.

I feel like I'm just starting to realize that Trump has figured out how to harness the power of anti-charisma... which no one ever told me was a thing...

but then I realize that I have no idea what anti-charisma is even though that I just made it up... and it just nags at the back of my mind.

800,000 unemployed over this shutdown... plenty of them being "asked" to work through the shutdown without pay...
from a guy who says he's all about creating American jobs...
and only 54% disapproval rating? (according to NYT)

    Just one question...
Are we GA, yet? 'Cause all this MAGAing is stressing me out.

    So... how's your country doing?

I found out today you guys have your own sketch comedy over there. Someone mentioned wangernumb on a Minecraft forum and ... well ...
    It's a cute sketch.

Funny how just about everything on American TV is American made, but other countries around the world watch a lot of American TV, too.
IDK why it surprised me to hear people from other countries making Murican cultural references, but it always catches me off guard a bit.
So IDK why I'm both surprised to know other countries are watching American TV, but also surprised to hear they have their own TV shows.

It's not like there's any reason sketch comedy shouldn't be a worldwide phenomenon.

Getting older... seems like I'm just realizing how dumb I am more and more.

I don't think you realize just how much Americans like guns. Sure, we don't all have semi-automatic rifles, but plenty do.
Actually, you may have me on the semi-autos. If you're talking pistols, though... it's hard to guess a good number, but I'd wager over 10% of people on the street in StL carry a pistol at least some of the time.

    ***
    So wrong.

According to a 2015 study by the National Firearms Survey, 9 million Americans carry a handgun on their person in public at least once a month. That's less than 3%. The study did say the majority of people who answered affirmative to that question were middle-aged, white, conservative men living in the south.

    Still... 10k feels low.

...and on this episode of Reality Star President, the whacko shouting news host of the natinoal fascist TV station tries to convince the President to declare a state of emergency. Complete with alarming stock footage of the border which makes the Mongol invasion look like a picnic.

Also, interesting to note that the RSP expresses outrage at the suggestion that he's in league with the evil foreign power, but never actually denies it.

  15. #15
I like how she worded that: "I don't think THE PRESIDENT would be that petty, do you?", to which the answer would normally be "no, of course not."

Replace that with "I don't think TRUMP would be that petty, do you?" and she'd look kinda dumb.

Its like if you say "the president is a wise man." it sounds ok. But if you say "Trump is a wise man." it sounds ridiculous even though you're talking about the same person.

The only thing is that everyone who might watch that show already knows Trump is crooked as fuck and owes his nuts to Putin, and the people who don't know he's crooked as fuck and owes his nuts to Putin won't watch that show 'cause it isn't Fox.

In other developments, rumour has it Trump is holding the shutdown not so he can get his precious Wall but to negotiate his way out of the presidency without going to jail. Either that or Mueller is about to pounce on Obama/Hillary/Soros/etc. and put them all away. It's hard to tell. The writers for this show are really good at keeping us guessing.

It's possible that there is a strategic reason for the shutdown, but the way it went down it's hard to believe it was anything other than a temper tantrum. He doesn't need to be strategic with his base because they'll spin everything for him. As long as he stays in the spotlight, any story will be spun to be a win for the maga cause. Case in point:

"The country's 21,656,200 government workers earned an average $51,340 per year, or $24.69 per hour, as of May 2012, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics."

I did that for you, you calculate. That's actually a semi-interesting stat.

I love how everyone is crying about a wall while they enforce regime change in Venezuela.

If America want to keep foreigners out, that's up to them. I have no idea why so many people from outside USA give a single shit about the wall.
Meddling with the internal affairs of other nations, didn't they have a big fucking cry about that recently?

USA are making war very likely in another country so they can maintain control of their oil.

And people are crying about a fucking wall.

I agree that on the grand scale it's nothing. 5B is nothing in the US national budget... you could obviously allocate it better tho. I just find it entertaining. It's bad that it takes so much focus from real issues. And it's bad that I give it so much attention instead of real issues... but at least I'm having fun.

It's not going to keep foreigners out... It is so tough for me to get how anyone would think that. Let's forget for a second that the majority of illegals come through the port of entry and simply overstay their visas. The wall they're currently planning on building can be overcome manually with sawing wire. A paraplegic could get through it without assistance. The wall that they wanted to build... you'd need to bring a rope.

Meanwhile: drones are dirt cheap, surveillance equipment is dirt cheap. Maga tards will virtually work for free if you give them a Hummer and a badge. There are so many better solutions than a wall.

I don't care. It symbolises their desire to keep foreigners out, which triggers the left, especially the political class, because they are banking on the vote of nationalised foreigners to secure power.

Why do you care so much? It's not your tax they're wasting.

There are so many better solutions than a wall.
I'd agree with this. Trump probably knows it too. So what's the real purpose of the wall?

It's bad that it takes so much focus from real issues.
Maybe this is why they want to build it. Everyone cries about the wall while USA continue their globalist agenda.

The real reason for the wall... I think you know that I think that Trump is a retarded person. So I don't think there's a good reason. He said it and people applauded, so that's what he ran on. He almost forgot about it by the end of last year, but then he was watching fox news and Judge Jeanine told him that the wall isn't included in the budget he agreed to sign, so he threw a temper tantrum. And that's why I care. You put a retarded person in charge of the most powerful position in the world and it'll be entertaining to watch.

If there's any strategy to the shutdown, it's to either stall the investigation or somehow create pressure that he can leverage to work out a deal for no prison for him or his children. - This would be a more solid theory if Trump wasn't so fucking retarded. I doubt he can think in that many steps.

As much as I like the idea that he's stalling to keep himself from getting jail time, I'm inclined to think you're right. My favoured theory is that his top advisor (Fox News) told him to dig in his heels, and so he did, and now he's too stupid to find a way out of it.

We have discussed the book "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" on here in the past

These guys at The Intercept started to see too much unrest in Latin America, everything going on at the same time, it's just too much for it to be a coincidence.

And lo and behold what did they find out with their investigation? The fucking book, while outdated as it's been in print for a while now, was right all along. Of course they don't mention it, as I'm sure they have no idea about the book or whatever, but the conclusions are spot on.

I'm starting to think this LA refugee thing is quite literally the chickens coming home to roost. Is that the saying?

Conservative news outlets proclaimed their disappointment at the top of their sites, with large headlines lamenting the deal. “NO WALL FUNDS,” Drudge wrote in red font. “GOVERNMENT OPEN… AND BORDER,” Breitbart’s headline blared, tacking on “NO WALL” in red font.

Ong, I hate to do this, but I owe you an apology.
Just one month after a muslim is sworn into congress, she rapes a baby:

Am I supposed to understand the point you just made? Who are those people and why should I care about them?

Who is that, who cares, and why isn't there any discussion of the baby on that feed?

I wasn't being serious, but with regards to NK, I would highly doubt the accuracy of their data over decades. Not that it matters.

That data conflicted with his world view, so he needs something to question it to dismiss all of it. Let him have it.

My comment correlated with an assumption you had about me, so roll with it.

cocco made the assumption I'm coming from a denial pov. I'm not. I'm open when it comes to climate change. It's pretty obvious human activity means more CO2, and it stands to reason that this has effects on the weather. However, it's also viable that such theories are exaggerated and even outright hijacked. I'm in no position to take a decisive stance on the issue.

When data from isolated places like NK are presented as reliable facts, it does, for me at least, lend credence to the idea that there is at least a grain of politics involved in this subject.

I also wouldn't trust data from a country that didn't even exist at the time.

Trump Derangement Syndrome - Level 4. How do they get an eight minute piece on this? Although I must confess, I only made it to five mins.

It's funny how "executive time" is tv, newspapers and internet. You could be forgiven for assuming soaps, crosswords and internet trolling, rather than keeping up with current affairs and engaging with normal people. I have no idea what he does with his day, but I'm not inclined to default to how I'd spend the working day, considering the old bugger is a great deal more successful than I am.

If this is the best they've got on him at the moment, I guess it's a quiet week.

Ikr. It's hard to believe he's so unpopular.

Yeah obviously he's someone doing the job of POTUS properly, not wasting his time with meetings with experts on important topics or reading up on stuff, but instead getting his briefings from Fox News. So much more efficient if you don't worry about trying to really understand anything.

And yeah, he does do a fair bit of internet trolling btw.

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting about how 'he's so successul'.

Maybe the reason it's because he's actually a total boob at business. He got a half billion head start, and at one point was several hundred mill in debt, which is when he started getting shady loans from shady people - but I'm sure you'll hear all about it in the Mueller report. That pretty much makes him the biggest fuckup in the history of business. But hey, he's good at self-promotion and making gullible people believe he's superhumanly good at everything.

Next they'll be reporting that he doesn't have a shit at home so he can get paid for his shitting time.

Ong, you do know he had a $500,000,000 head start. He would be a billionaire just off interest alone. Is it really that weird that I'm not impressed.

    Anyway, back to baby rape:

No no it's true, Trump said so himself. And if there's one thing we all know about Trump, it's that he always tells the truth.

No, the small one million dollar loan was simply a lie. He was on his dad's payroll for 200k a year from age 3. His actual inheritance is closer to half a billion that was paid through systematic overcharging to evade inheritance tax.

What's more interesting than the president accusing someone of executing babies, is that it's not even newsworthy.

I don't understand why he hung on for so long. People who are so stupid that they think a wall will stop anyone with arms legs and a brain... surely they're dumb enough that you can just tell them that it's being built and then tell them it's finished a little later, and they'll buy it.
