went to the Devils/Stars game last night, my first ever NHL-live experience.

Some notes:
-girls were not as hot as they are at the Mavs games at the same arena
-girls drank more than the hot girls at the Mavs games
-the 7yr old kid next to me said "punch him in the face" like 10 times, reminded me of Ricky Bobby's kids
-the refs broke up all the fights
-the puck is easier to follow in person
-I enjoyed myself
-STARS WON!

Riddle me this why are there so many left handed players in the NHL?

Something like 90-93% of the adult population is right handed in the NHL it seems like some teams are 60-70% shoot left side (which usually means they are left handed)


My theory: Could it be in the minors and before that 90% of people are right handed so left handed players have an advantage against right handed players because righties are used to playing righties, so the left handed players get scouted and excel?

Yeah the article explains it pretty well. In America a lot of kids play other sports before hockey and they shoot w/e hand they are because they played baseball first etc. In Russia/Canada and other hockey countries they play hockey from a young age and a lot shoot left but are right handed because I guess that feels more natural.

Growing up playing hockey only with Americans everyone shot right and was right handed. Only like 1 or two kids on my team ever shot left and they were always left handed.
