Castro was not nearly as bad as, say, the Saudis, who continue to oppress the shit out of Yemen. Of course, we have favourable ties with the Saudis. Then there's Israel, who again, we list as an ally, while they oppress the shit out of Palestines.

Castro was a stubborn and arrogant piece of shit. But what he did was, in his mind, in the best interests of his people. Where he's arrogant is that he refused to allow the individual to decide for himself what's best for him. Where he was stubborn was where he refused to loosen his grip. But he lived and breathed for Cuba. And he did great things for African people. That the leader of a tiny nation like Cuba could build hospitals in Africa is notable. We support much worse leaders than he ever was.

Castro is dead, I don't know if you noticed. Cuba have had their balls squeezed for half a century or so. Their people need a break. Trump saying he'll pull the plug on the deal if it's not favourable to America is harsh, under the circumstances.
