Apparently there was some kind of weird mini-holocaust against their religion in like 1500's Holland or something. So because of that, they don't associate with anyone foreign to their way of life. No phones. No cars. No TV's. No power lines. No connections whatsoever. Just farming and god. They still go to Wal-Mart though.....weird.
