That said, rather than accept personal responsibility for my misunderstanding, I blame you for using words by their literal meanings. Despite my overreaction to something you didn't say, I hold you responsible.
Thank you for sharing your feelings with us.

I appreciate the productive nature this question has on the topic of the Amish, but I'm not interested in your aggressive then passive-aggressive nonsense.

The Mennonites are pretty similar in my understanding.
I don't know of too many cults that don't simply indoctrinate the children and effectively imprison them as they become adults.
If nothing else, the Amish take on it is a different approach.
I don't care one bit whether or not it's moral or ethical. Other people can worry about that stuff. If it's a human rights tragedy or whatever you claimed, then it's kinda interesting that no one is being assaulted. It sounds like your argument to that effect is like a Stockholm Syndrome kind of thing. Which again, I'm not taking any moral stance on.
People are willing to go to extremes to live a familiar lifestyle. Look at all the hubbub over people feeling they're entitled to die in a culture similar to the one they were raised in. People care about stuff like that which I can't even understand why. I just accept that people feel entitled to all sorts of things which nature doesn't agree on. Sometimes that leads to good things. Sometimes bad.

People do all kinds of weird things, and plenty of them make no sense, but could be a lot better or worse.
