    Yeah, I agree.

Game of Thrones may have a few straight up villains that are... maybe not likable, but awesome enough that their evil antics put a grin on your face. But GoT has so much going on with so many players that we never really develop the same sort of relationship we have with Francis. So yeah, pretty sure he's the greatest anti-hero since his character stresses the anti in anti-hero so much more than any other-- he's essentially only a hero in that our perspective makes him the protagonist.

I think I quit The Walking Dead.

I really don't get anything out of it anymore. I don't laugh, I don't get mad at the squandered potential, I just watch in a haze of confusion conjured by the notion that this show leaves the editing room and then knocks the ratings out of the park week after week, season after season-- then it ends, I shrug and feel like I've wasted an hour of my life.

The walking carl episode was probably one of the best of the entire series, sadly.

I snapped for this week's episode for a couple of reasons:

    1) Deus-ex Carol i mean what the fucking fuck

    2)
    Spoiler:
the fucking baby dies in the fucking books, kill that stupid baby you cunts

The bright side of two is that it looks like they're somehow foreshadowing the psychopath blonde girl to kill the baby. I highly doubt they follow through on this though.

See, the comics didn't really appeal to me, mostly because of the art style, too cartoony or something-- but at least it has balls.

If there is ever another prime time zombie drama (in America), it better be dark and not follow TWD with this Mickey Mouse bullshit.

I mean, I've been watching it for luls since, like, episode three. It would have been episode two, but I was confused and forcing myself to take it seriously because I still had hope left over from what was quite a solid pilot. Then at some point the luls dried up, but the habit of hate watching had already solidified.

I guess I am ok with the fact that I stuck with it this long-- I mean, there were some real gems in the show. Deer God is gets a color picture next to it's half-page entry in the tens of thousands of pages long lexicon of the entire history of performing arts.

    Hi5 boost!
Exactly the same here. Season 1, Episode 3 was when I threw in the towel. Pilot was superb, 2nd episode was like, ok, I didn't expect them to be able to keep up with that level anyway. Rest of the season was a massive dissappointment. I'm not even going to spell check dissappointment, I'm so let down.

thy.!? The condescending 2nd person? Surely if there is any clear case for NOT using the condescending conjugation, it's when talking to God about Himself.

Is deer god just referring to the deer scene where the young'n gets shot? If so I can't deny that gave rise to some of the funniest memes on the web.

You remain loyal to a show for 9 seasons and how do they reward you? They shit all over your chest and then proceed to piss in your butt.

You deserve it, anyone with sense stopped watching about 6 years ago.
  28. #28
It was still decent up until season 8, slowly degrading but still decent and humorous enough to see what would happen to these people. It's only at season 9 that people I know stopped watching it because too horrible. I still need to check out the ending but it'll have to wait until I'm done with House of Cards. Too many spoilers looming.

I always thought it was a mediocre sitcom with one really funny character (NPH).

Yeah, I saw you yapping about it but at first glance it looks like a show geared for a female following. I'm only like a half season in, but it's funny and easy to watch.

    Same as 15 y'old girls I heard.

Anyone seen Hemlock Grove? I'm thinking all of neflix shows are worth a look but I've become a bit alergic to vampire stuff ever since it Twilight made it a chick thing.

I would only watch if desperate for TV. I had high hopes but it did nothing for me. The vampires are for some reason not vampires, but vampire like creatures. You spend most of the show wondering what their deal is (or at least why they didn't just make them vampires) but never really find out. The good news is by then I had stopped caring. It felt like 4-5 bad horror movies smushed together. They clearly spent money and the acting is OK, but the plot is just a mess.

And of course, there are werewolves. Why aren't they werewolf like creatures? idk

Not close to House of Cards or Orange, Lilyhammer was also better (have not seen season 2 yet).
  51. #51
I got my sister into Rick and Morty and she showed her friends at school as she thought it was so good (she's 15) and her friends now take the piss out of stuff that isn't funny by saying "ha ha rick and morty".

Poor girl, has such better taste than a typical teenage girl.

yeah they had something for like 1/2 season, now I am not sure what they are doing.

Slate (he is forever crixus to me) is so terrible it is amazing he can get work in a part where he usually has his shirt on. I kept praying he would die on the island. AND HOW CAN THE DAD NOT RECOGNIZE ARROW-Woman.

also can't stop watching. I tell myself it's because I want to support Summer Glau, she is the queen of dork shows.

Yeah, it is quite good. Pretty much a Cohens tribute which happens to take place in the Fargo universe. For example, Billy Bob Thorton's character is obviously derived from the No Country character, Chigurh-- and there are a lot of Easter eggs, like at the motel there's a sign for white Russians being on special.

But in doing a tribute, I feel like they trip up on themselves at times. For example, they can be a bit heavy handed with the fade edits, and they often feel misused. But, even still, this sort of adds charm for me, since they are so clearly Cohen's fanboys. Their over enthusiasm almost makes it better than someone flawlessly aping the Cohen's style.
  58. #58
I like the Coens tributes. It feels Lebowski/Millers/No Country while also feeling unique. FX has big time stepped up their game with this one. Some aspects of it I think are better than True Detective. Not all aspects, but some
  59. #59
True story. The Fargo TV premiere was viewable in the "Historic" Fargo Theater, in Fargo. https://www.facebook.com/events/611704688910599/

Also, The Fargo Brewing Company (only a couple years old with some solid beers) has an IPA named Wood Chipper (the first beer they produced). They also have a taphouse that is fairly brilliant in it's simplicity, with several picnic tables and tabs coming out of the wall of their cooler. You can go there on Tuesday's watch Fargo, and get the Wood Chipper on special for $3 a pint.

So you click their picture and then you get their money?

FX has the best scripted programming on television. Fuck HBO and Netflix and AMC. Fuck them in their asses.

    Hold up there Bunnu

Sons was strong in the beginning but is weak now, and Justified's only current great strength is Boyd Crowder. Fargo is a hop and a skip ahead of both, a hop and a skip that brings it to Boardwalk Empire and House of Cards territory

The Americans. Archer. Always Sunny. No one else has this many high-quality programs.

    You're Jon Snow.
  63. #63
    YOU TAKE THAT BACK!!

Haven't seen The Americans, but skeptical. Archer is good. Always Sunny has been cancelled for like twenty years (at least it feels like it's been that long since the last season)

Honestly I'd take BwE, GoT, and TD over those six.

Walker is a chump but what bugs me more is how Francis Underwood decided from the start of the show that it's a good idea to just piss off as many people as possible. And somehow this will lead to ultimate power? His whole core plan just sucks. Of course it creates the tension the show thrives on but anyone who is so set out to betray and manipulate people would have quickly learned that this just doesn't fly. People see through it and you're done. I'd estimate after kindergarten or at least early high school everyone with the manipulative mindset of Underwood would have figured this out (the hard way). How is it a good idea to piss off the president, some super rich and powerful energy old guy like Tusk, attach your name to run a candidate that you know will fail, fuck with all the senators you can, the list of unnecessary conflict is endless. When a guy as rich and powerful as Tusk comes to buddy you up, why on earth would you make an enemy out him? All Underwood has going for him at this point are some errant boys like Doug and Meechum. All unprovoked - why take such unpredictable risks?

Perhaps lateron in the show we'll find out Underwood has paranoid delusions. That would better explain his behavior. Still a great show though. This just sticks out.
