The wire is one of those shows that you just have to appreciate subtlety to really like. It takes everyone who watches it a while to truly re-calibrate to it's pace and level of action. Some people never adjust. But once your brain calibrates to it, it's one of the best shows of all time. The attention to detail is fantastic and it rewards rewatching which I can't as much say for other great shows. I definitely enjoyed Breaking Bad on the rewatch but I didn't have any epiphanies. It's not a subtle show at all.
