working myself up to FTR fullhouse status while not giving 1 solid piece of advice

    Default origins of SHIP IT?

so i really like the saying SHIP IT - the label, the saying, all of it - But I was watching the WSOP the other night and they showed these young kids playing poker (it was the limit event where the youngest kid ever, barakis or something, won the bracelet at 21years 11 days)...ANYWAY, they were j0king and said ship it! after one of them took the pot down -

Is this a pretty common poker saying? It seems like i never heard of it before FTR - maybe the guys are FTR members? Or did we just steal it from somewhere else?

i think its ours and we ought to copyright that shit!

Once upon a time there were these colony thingies here in what is now known as the United States of America. These colony thingies had lots of natural resources around them to get by, but if they wanted manufactured goods they had to get those from Europe. Back when these colony thingies were around there were no planes, trains, or automobiles, so if you wanted something from Europe it got sent by a ship.

People would say, "I'm getting the package sent to me via a boat from Europe." Since people are fucking lazy they shortened it to, "The package is being shipped here."

It became a part of our culture's jargon, so much so that when people later sent things by train they were still "shipping it," with a boat never being involved in the process. Now things are "shipped" by cars and planes, and of course, poker dealers, and again, no freaking boats!

This is where I think "ship it" was stolen from, but it's only a guess.

i thought it was kinda donkish to say ship it now, thats why crucial and other shit were tacked on to it to make it fresh again. i really dont hear it being said that much anymore.
