I think this is what's best for you. No one likes the Ravens.

so being a fan all your life and having family (not immediate family-- cousins and an uncle) that went doesn't count?
As far as college teams go, unless you're real close with a family member that went; It doesn't count.

Cincinnati had one hell of a schedule this year. They played VT, Rutgers and WVU as well as OSU.

OSU beat #2 texas and #2 michigan already, and in all likelihood will beat #2 florida in a few weeks.

You mean what should be #3 Florida...

    Ridiculous BCS.

Michigan was a 6 point dog AT the HorseShoe, implying that they'd be a 3 point underdog at a neutral site.

Florida is an 8 point underdog at a neutral site, implying that they would be an 11 point under at the HorseShoe.

Yet Michigan is #3 and missing the national championship and Florida is #2 and going to the national championship. Anything seems retarded about this?

I think you should stick to quoting children, ensign. You're much better at that. The gators deserve to be #2 because they're great and I'm a die hard gator fan. My cousins, grandma, their pool guys, a shirt I left there, and some of my tourist money are all in Florida. This makes me an able and willing Florida fan. It also makes me an expert at the game and BCS. Michigan couldn't get it done last game and we all know Florida is amazing and will win this thing!!! I mean, a gator vs a buckeye? Wtf is a buckeye? Gators eat bucks and their eyes for breakfast. I'm pretty sure gators eat wolverines too. While I can't confirm this my gut says this is correct and we all know by the Colbert theorem that your gut is fact. Disagree with me? You're wrong, you were using your brain. Use your gut next time.

yes, someone on a poker forum is essentially making the argument that the odds-makers in vegas should be the ones determining who plays for the national championship.

honestly, having to play michigan again would be such a backhanded slap in the face to OSU, the only team that is deserving to be in the national championship game in the first place. Every other team has lost (or had vastly inferior schedules). This is completely independant of my opinion that I think Florida is more deserving since they play in the toughest conference in football and that michigan just lost to OSU! They already had their shot, and anybody that was watching knows that OSU tried giving them the win on at least a couple occasions..

Uh. I think oddsmakers would know their shit MUCH more than anyone on BSPN or any other sports network.

I don't see why the opinions of oddsmakers seem retarded to you. They did a much better job of projecting this years final 10 than BSPN or any of their talking heads did.

relax, my point was that I don't think that vegas odd makers should carry much weight in determining who plays for the national championship.

For what it's worth, I agree that Michigan is probably the second best team in the country. However, I still stand by that Florida should play in the national championship for the same reasons that I've said all along.. Florida had the tougher schedule, michigan JUST LOST to OSU, and that a rematch is just a slap in the face to OSU, the only team that really deserves to be in the game. It would almost be like their win a couple weeks ago just wasn't good enough, and despite being the #1 team in the country all year and just beating #2, they deserve another chance? give me a break. Winners win, losers go home, and thats how it should be. Or something like that.

I think you have to look at the OSU vs. Michigan game as a playoff game since they were both 1 and 2 at the time. The winner goes to the National Championship game and the loser goes to the Rose Bowl.

It's ridiculous to see how some people voted in the coaches/harris poll. One person actually voted Florida #1 over OSU to ensure they got into the title game. Other people voted Florida at #5 to try and get Michigan in there. Obviously people were voting based on what matchup they wanted to see, not actually voting the teams from best to worst.

Based on their resume, Florida deserved to be in the title game over Michigan even if Michigan is the better team. The BCS did what they had to do by putting Florida in there. If they put Michigan in there, they are basically admitting that the system is flawed (even if everyone already knows that it is). Although, I find it comical that the computers, which were created to form a completely objective opinion, had Florida and Michigan at exactly the same rating.

Another thing I'd like to add is that most of the arguements against Michigan being in the title game seem more like excuses than valid reasons.

The BCS did what it had to do. There were two deserving teams and one spot in the title game. Florida had the better resume, most people recognized that Michigan was the better team. Michigan got left out. Until the system is fixed, someone is gonna get left out. It happened two years ago when there were 3 undefeated teams and Auburn got left out and it will continue to happen until the worst system in sports gets changed.

Unfortunately, it probably won't get changed anytime soon and I'll give you four reasons why: Tostitos, FedEx, Allstate, and Citi. A playoff would cost college football millions of dollars and it's not gonna give that up anytime soon. We are stuck with this system and it's sad.

In the meantime, let's just enjoy watching #1 vs #3.
