My actual sort of considered opinion is that he may well be the best, but poker is so fluid that at times other people are going to have an edge over him. He is not the best all of the time, he is almost definately not the best at every single poker variant. These issues mean that although he may well be the best all-round poker player in the world there is enough doubt about it to only vote for "one of the best".

Did anyone see Iveys crippling hand in the WSOP this year?
He got coolered when his nut flush ran into a boat, but he made the guy who coolered him ( I may have just made up a new verb, I'm not sure) look like a complete ass. The guy gets it all in after the turn when he hits his boat, and stands up. Ivey just looks at him and says "why are you standing up? You have the nuts. You look like you're going to leave or something." The guy mumbles something, just gets leveled by Ivey. I would be pissed off too if I was him I guess, the guy turns over the near nuts, Iveys drawing dead, and the guy stands up like he's gonna maybe gonna lose or something. Ivey just makes him look foolish.

In my honest opinion, Hellmuth is one of the best NLHE Tournament Players alive today. Although I do not approve of his childish rants when he loses pots. Very unprofessional i.m.o.

As far as Hellmuth playing in the High Stakes Cash Games, I think he is actually much weaker than other cash game Pro's like The Brunsons, Chan, Negraneu, Booth, Harman, Deeb, Farha, Esfandiari, Laak, Greenstein, Wasicka, and others.
Even Guy Laliberte is better than Hellmuth at the Cash Games i.m.o. That's probably because people like Guy Laliberte have 'street smarts'.
I don't think Hellmuth has the 'street smarts' needed to win consistently in high stakes cash games.
