Portal 2?

    Default Portal 2?

Anyone got Portal 2 and not played coop yet?

I need someone to play through it with me and I'd prefer that it's someone that hasn't solved the puzzles yet.

Just dl'd the free demo for the first one, amazing, think I'm gonna have to but the full game.

Will I lose anything if I just dive in at portal 2 and don't bother with portal 1? Or will I appredciate the game much more if I bother with portal 1 first?

You would actually miss out on a lot. The second builds directly on events of the the first. Besides, portal 1 is a stand alone awesome game as well. No reason to play 2 first.

Both games are hilarious and fun.

How long is the first game? The demo gives the first 11 rooms only which were really easy. Does the game become mentally taxing as it progresses or is it always pretty simple?

Or a better question: is the game more mentally challenging in terms of figuring out what to do or more practically challenging in terms of actually doing what you easily figured out?

I wouldn't call it "taxing" but it does require you to think outside the box. If you get some basic ideas of Portal, you shouldn't have a problem completing the game.

The first game is ridiculously short but definitely worth it.

I have the PC version, but from what I understand I can play with PS3 users now that they have steam for PS3 (or something like that).

That would be a good idea, even if only to get the new mechanics figured out.

I agree. Several times I felt completely stumped, but then when you find the solution it's usually a facepalm moment.

And yes, its a very short game, but I think it's gonna cost you a whole $10 on steam to pick it up. And once you beat it you get the advanced maps which I still haven't solved yet.

    That's correct. I just created a Steam account: psn_boog690

Send me a PM whenever. I'm usually down to play (just can't play today).

    Accepted.

    I did one "room" in co-op...room 2.

Spent $10 on steam to play the 1st game, SO worth it. After playing the demo I was amused but not too excited about the actual gameplay, but the lulz you get from the robots made up for it. Might have to get the 2nd one now

First Portal was shorter but the later levels were more challenging than anything in Portal 2, IMO. Both are extremely fun and a refreshing break from the FPO shooters. Portal 2 is also short, but the addition of the co-op levels is nice. I haven't finished co-op yet. I'm on PS3 ... player name Xianti

Just ordered the orange box for PS3. With this schedule expect me to pick up Portal 2 some time in 2015

Anyone playing it on the PC? I just finished the single player mission.
Loved it even tho I was strolling right through. After the original Portal advanced maps and Portal: Prelude, it's not much of a challange, but that's what coop is for. I'm sure there will be loads of custom maps as well.

Yeah, I'm on PC. Add me on steam, Hawkfan79.

I got stuck back on Civ5 so I haven't got to playing coop yet. I really do want to get to it though.
