i just ate at mcdonalds. the girl gave me my change back and i said 'thank you.' she looked nice enough, but didn't say 'youre welcome' or anything similiar.

i expect for this to be said. for people that are shy and won't say this, is it because you are embarassed when you are thanked, or just because you are too shy to respond? would you rather me not say anything at all? i dont mind not thanking shy people anymore.
