Man, I'm kind of stressed out. I've had a few blood tests done recently because my health has been a bit off this year, (overly phlegmatic while bringing up some sticky/smelly/solid-ish shit) and one of the tests came back saying that my red blood cell count is a bit low. As well, got a chest x-ray done and apparently I have some calcification in both lungs. Since I have no idea what any of it really means long term, I'm kind of bothered/worried. I had a few more tests done this past week, as well. I don't know if I should be worried, but I guess i just want to find out what's wrong, if anything at all.

My wife is umpiring the Jayhawk Conference (junior college) All-Star Game tomorrow afternoon at Kauffman Stadium (where the Royals play). This is the same place I watched my childhood heroes play baseball, and now I get to see her do her thing on the same field. How awesome is that?


p.s. Yes, the wife umpires baseball. I think she's the only female baseball umpire doing college ball in the midwest (she does D-II, junior college, and high school ball). This will be her third time umpiring there, as she's worked two high school games at "The K" before...Man I'm so jealous, and also thrilled for her as she's one of the six umpires from the KC area hand-picked for this game.

So I was coming home from visiting family this weekend and 5 minutes after the flight took off, there was a loud explosion and the cabin started to de-pressurize. The flight attendant told us to put our heads between our knees because we were making an emergency landing. A few minutes later we landed with no problems, emergency vehicles were waiting all over the runway. I don't know how common this type of thing is, but I feel pretty lucky not to be dead right now.
