I think there is a level of discontent that has been simmering for a while now, but I'm not sure recent events reflect this. I'm not convinced this has anything to do with economics or politics, it's basically the lower class (we call them chavs) taking advantage of the political tension between locals and the police, they're opportunistic little thieving bastards. Most of the people arrested in Tottenham were from other parts of London. I can't imagine many of the protesters knew the shooting victim.

It's basically anti-establishment morons who don't know why they're anti-establishment, they just are. They lack the intelligence to understand their motives. Britain has a lot of stupid people.
