I was hoping this was calming down, but last night in Birmingham three Asians who were out on the streets with their community protecting their businesses got mowed down and killed by rioters. There's word that there are large groups of Asians travelling from various cities across the UK to Birmingham intent on revenge... if this is true, we're about to have a full scale race riot in Birmingham. I hope this is just rumour, I have family barely a mile from the city centre, not least my two-year-old nephew. I have to admit I'm very worried about what might happen in town tonight.

I will say that the rumours are from BlackBerry and Twitter, and there's been a lot of bullshit doing the rounds on these forums, but what happened last night in Brum was very serious, and is bound to have repercussions. There's no doubt the car was driven into these men deliberately, it was doing well over 50mph and was on the pavement when it hit them. There's no doubt there's an awful lot of angry people. Fuck, I'm angry about it, it's fucking sick. These rioters have proven that they have no regard for human life. We should show no regard for theirs. If rubber bullets do not stop these people, I'm happy with live rounds.

I hope the army are on standby in Birmingham.

The issue we face is a small section of society and their attitudes towards work, responsibility, respect, welfare and their lack of self worth and belief in the value of the society the rest of us live in. I don't know if its down to poverty, lack of role models, education or parental attitudes, but its a huge problem.

Well, either the rumours were bollocks, or the sheer number of vigilantes on the street has given the rioters the shits, and they've stayed in. Or possibly there's a huge media blackout. I've heard nothing from my brother on the outskirts of the city, so I doubt there's anything of note going on. It's been raining tonight, it's common knowledge that rioters don't like getting rained on, bless them. It might be this had an impact.

I'm off to a music festival for the weekend, I'm turning my phone off and forgetting all about the crap, and I'm gonna get wasted and have a great time. Hopefully society will still be intact when I'm back.

It was a fucking great festival. The majority of people there were anarchists, hippies and students. I feel safer partying with these guys than walking the streets of my town. I just had the best weekend of my year so far, why the fuck do you suppose I should give that up? Because some cunt stole some trainers from footlocker 70 miles away? I'll just avoid the places where riots are actually happening, and get on with enjoying my life. Thanks for your concern though.
