Just download and install MX Player on your nexus. Then you can just copy and paste the dvd's audio_ts and video_ts folders into a folder on your nexus, and play the dvd directly without having to convert to avi (loosing quality in the process).
edit: if there is not enough space in your nexus to do that, you can play the movie directly from a usb stick plugged in your Nexus via a USB-on-the-go cable, but I think you may have to be rooted to do that.
