this is an episode that I haven't seen, but I have to assume that you are mistaken when you say this. they have mentioned many states, but never one that they actually live in, because there is not a real state that is quite like theirs. although springfield was apparently modelled on a town in Indiana.
The 'behind the laughter' episode (a satirical take on VH1's 'behind the music') states that the Simpsons are a "northern kentucky" family. This is the only episode that has ever mentioned a 'home state' for the Simpson family.
