It's not firefox itself. I just wondered if you were running the latest version, if so then disregard that.
Maybe scriptblock is messing with it, or perhaps there's a programme running silently that's messing with it, something you use on both home and work comps. If you can be arsed, pull up your task manager, and google all the processes. Close everything that doesn't need to be running, and see if it fixes the problem, perhaps starting firefox up with each attaempt. A ballache, but you might just bink the programme that's doing it. And if not, you'll at least learn something about the processes that take up your memory.
