I like the attitude that people take on things where if it can do harm to anyone it should be banned for everyone. Just makes absolutely 0 sense.

Gambling is wrong and makes good people lose their money. Besides, imagine the horrible side effects of if people went to the casino less! My head kinda hurts following the logic therein.

OMG and there's a video! Yes!

    http://stopinternetgambling.com/watch.html

Cliffnotes: The Las Vegas Sands Corp would gladly facilitate the ruination of your life, but at least they make you step into a casino to do it. Honestly, who's gonna go through all that trouble. But if it's on the computer?! That's just too far!!!!

OMG, and there's a News "section," which includes all of one article........written by Sheldon Adelson! Hahahahaha! It also has it listed as a Press Release when it is quite clearly a feature-length opinion piece.

hahaha the video is hilarious. They might as well have said "They can lose $1000s of dollars... without EVEN setting foot in a casino and losing it to us!"

Don't you understand? You expect to lose money with us. You don't expect to be able to lose money anywhere. This is America, where people aren't perpetually out for every loose cent in your pocket.

Meanwhile at Verizon HQ: If we charge all of our customers an additional 6 cents, we'll make an extra 250 million dollars this quarter. I just don't see a downside.

How much do you think this website, this front of the campaign costs?

The "Get Informed" section, while being the least hilarious part of the site, has some nuggets as well. The second most common reason people give for not supporting internet gambling is "Don't Trust Internet."

how about just removing one word from the strap line at the bottom ....would las vegas sands get behind this
WE URGE STATE LAWMAKERS TO OPPOSE GAMBLING AND WE URGE CONGRESS TO MAKE IT ILLEGAL NATIONWIDE.

I can see why Las Vegas Sands Corp would be against online gambling and pushing this type of advertising. They think it would take away customers that they would attract. Only problem is, people who choose to never visit Las Vegas or Nevada would be unfairly prevented from doing what is currently allowed in Las Vegas and Nevada. Let's get rid of this monopolistic thinking business behavior and allow gambling in all 50 states.

This farce of an ad reminds me of a hamburger joint trying to ban a roach coach.

All governments are hypocrites , how and why can the stock market not be considered gambling ? But will never be illegal ! Because ? It is the biggest casino with the most affiliates funded by banks ! If poker is gambling and illegal then so is the stock exchange in the United States .

Look I know it's slightly off topic but gambling is gambling = obvious , and when a great country like the USA can punish medium size businesses like pokerstars (yes I said medium sized) for offering a product which u can invest capital exactly the same way u can on the stock market (with a very small start up cost of 10 usd ) the only difference is regulation ! Man I must be insane to think like this !?

Plus I'm not sure why companies in the same industry but not online want to reduce market size , gambling ebbs and flows but all ways increases on average so what's the big deal ?

"And public polling suggests that voters all across America are overwhelmingly against it. "

From Wiki > Bill Frist "In the Zogby International Poll, 87% believe online gambling is a personal choice which should not be banned. A Wall Street Journal Poll showed 85% oppose government prohibition of online gambling."

You can buy state-sponsored lottery tickets in 44 states + DC + other US territories.

Seems like the states are in favor of legalized gambling, at least, as long as they're running the racket.

That I said it just now, doesn't mean I sussed it just now, ya see? Also, more like 20 years, Pascy.

If we step away from the federal & state level and look at city and community level it's even more obvious that Americans are in support of gambling. Bingo night is a staple source of income for local churches and no one's going to arrest granny at bingo night.
