    Default Supersize Me

    Anyone see this documentary yet?
About the guy that eats only 3 'squares' a day off the Micky-D's menu for a month?
Check it out if you haven't. It's some brutal s**t.
He was gaining 10% of his body weight each week- Halfway thru each of the 3 Dr's he had benchmarked with beforehand told him to stop now or he'd be in major trouble. . . 'Your liver is now patte' one said.
I thought the best part was that his GF was a vegan chef... now that's irony.
I've heard that Micky's is the 'largest purchaser of cow-eyeballs in the world'
Whatcha think they use them for? Filler?
Don't get me wrong, I stop there for lunch a few times a week, just wanna hear what you guys have to say about it.

Oh, slightly ahead of the vegan GF was that 35 mins into it they played Wesley Willis' 'Rock n Roll McDonalds', I just about fell out of my chair laughing.
Willis was a homeless dude in the Metro area who would entertain with a casio keyboard. Drew and Mike on the WRIF, (your home of Rock and Roll-Arthur P.), had him in studio at least once which gave him nationwide notariety.
Anyone heard 'Cut the Mullet' ? LMFAO!! Can't get that song out of my head now, " Get your ass to a barbershop, Cuz everyone hates you".
Might just be a Detroit thang...
    Whatcha think?
Of course I have bad days...
Sometimes I'll go a whole day without quads.

I thought the film was pretty lame. It's not a documentary in any decent sense of the word (similar to Moore's efforts).

I watched about fifteen minutes of it. The first time he ate his supersized meal and started puking.
So okay, you can't handle that sized meal, that pretty much means that it's going to be a bad diet right from the start.

It's a thirty day experiment on how frakkin' stupid a guy will be just to make a movie.

So you think if he was fat to start with it would have been a better diet?

I think the documentry was good btw.

Not necessarily fat. But able to handle that sized meal.

I mean if he ate the kiddie portions and lost a ton of weight, would the right conclusion be that McDonalds is good for dieting?

His rules for eating were so stoopid that it's hard to judge if he's proved a point. He also engages in a lot of nudge-nudge, wink-wink argumentation ( a la Moore).

The actually interesting part of the documentary (the bits I saw) was when he interviewed people on the street. For instance that French woman who claimed that the large size in France was the "regular" in the US. If that's true that's very telling.

Someone ought to make a documentary about this stuff

True for Norway. And the largest US McD soda is, I believe, larger than the largest bottle of soda I can get in a store.

Funny how the movie made evereyone I was watching it sick, while it made _me_ want to get a burger .

The movie was entertaining, but it needs to be taken with a grain of salt. McDonalds doesn't make the healthiest food, but I bet if he did the same thing with KFC, Taco Bell, or Pizza Hut, he could have had the same results.

And keep in mind that he is married to a vegan chef, which in all likelyhood means he eats a vegan diet. If you go from eating super healthy veggie food, to fat & sugar & salt filled fast food, of course your body is going to react. I eat crap regularly and when I tried switching to an 80% fruit/veggie diet to loose some weight, my body did some seriously weird stuff too. My plumbing was all out of wack and I had heartburn for like a week straight.

And now, I am seriously craving an Egg McMuffin...

I watched it and got jealous of how the american super sized meals were bigger than the Canadian super sized meals. Our super size is your large. Not fair.

id liked it, plus i like the micheal moore films.

wasnt there a guy on it who has like eaten 1000 burgers at one specific McD's. holds a record his town is proud of.

If anyone comes across the Educationally-Enhanced [eeDVD] version of this on DVD, you should check it out. I worked on all the extra features and created the DVD menus for it.

The coolest feature is the "enhanced" play mode, where you watch the movie and pop-up graphics come up with additional facts and behind-the-scenes tidbits. There are also nutrition games and lessons on the DVD.

Wow, small world. I heard it's shown in schools quite a bit.

On a KFC tangent, I knew a guy that started working there with a skinny 6'4" frame and 2 yrs later weighed well over 300 pounds.
That was pretty much all he ate.

Like I said my friend, so grossly unfair. McDonalds is so rigged.

Based on my experiences with Taco Bell burritos, I've come to the conclusion that the Taco Bell R&D team has been trying (and succeeding) at engineering a burrito that simulates the effects of a bad stomach virus.

Hey, I just watched this online @ Netflix.
Too me, Like most Docudrama's it seems they Dramatize a little more than reality because of course it makes for good T.V.
Other than that, this film makes me want to get my Ass walking and too Stop eating @ McD's.
Pretty good movie, a little slow at times, but very interesting
all that aside, I'll have a BigMac and large frie too go please.

No you're right, that is a very expensive sandwich. Maybe Jarred himself made it.
