Management position opens up... bid for it. Only competition is another supervisor who has no management training... he has only supervised for 2 years.
Decision is made... and I don't get the management position. Reason? It was a tough decision that was very close... and no other reason is given.
WTF?
This happened to me once. New guy with no experience got it over me for no reason other than "it was close". Within a few months though, I realized that they made the right call. He was actually a pretty decent manager and I came to realize it was a role that I didn't really want. I was just after the pay raise.
