If a fetish actually impedes on a person's ability to mate, they'll simply get weeded out of the genepool, that's how it works. I meant it more in the sense of differing tastes (the fat women taste is called a fetish though).

Food for thought: if this was 100% true, then there would be no homosexuality left at some point.
